Food is still outstanding & the service is TERRIFIC but I couldn’t do my perfect score. We have dined here thru the years & I realize it’s Pandemic times & inflation.., BUT really!!!??? Paying extra if you ask for bread with your dinner.??!!! $2.75 for...4 slices? This nickel & dime stuff is getting old!More

We just wanted some clam chowder to take back to our room. It was available at the deli counter and the 1-quart container was perfect for four servings. The cost for the quart container was slightly more than a single bowl serving in the restaurant.

Friendly and attentive service. We both got the fish tacos, they were good, but not great. They had a nice selection of seafood.

this used to be a great place for locals. The food however is not prepared with the passion and care it used to. The athmosphere is not cozy and familiar anymore. they took away the famous warm bread, which they used to serve as soon...as you placed the order. It all has to do with the taste and feel of this place. The fresh fish was not cooked delicately and the au gratin was too dry. the veggies were not appetizing. What happened to this place? will not go back to it.More

This meal was pretty bad. I ordered fish/shrimp and chips. Pieces of fish were fused together resulting in raw batter between the pieces. Although they made me another, this should have never been served. Even the second try wasn't good. Both the fish and shrimp...were very hard. The chips were pretty basic and not hot. My partner's grilled haddock, ($35), was small, dry, and tasteless. No Manager even took the time to apologize for serving me raw batter. All in all, bland, poorly cooked, overpriced, uninspired food. We won't be back.More

We came here because we love top of the market and knew this place was a lower part of the family chain so we didnt expect it to be exact however we were quite let down and wish we had gone elsewhere even if it...cost more to do so. The service was awful (unfriendly and not on point). She complained they were short staffed but frankly she was just not good at her job. We had caeser salads which had zero taste completely devoid of cheese anchovy or salt flavor. These were followed up with their famous cioppino which didnt taste good at all. Pasta was gummy and instead of it having a delicious seafood broth it came with a chunky thick sauce that was more like cement (didnt spread or coat the pasta) and tasted like a cheap jarred ragu. Even dumping grated cheese couldnt save the taste. The fish in the cioppino was ordinary and bland tasting as well. In addition to the above we bought a nice bottle of wine to go with our meal which was ruined with the cheap small and thick dorky wine glasses they provided. If your looking for a great meal or great service skip this place entirely and if you are familiar with top of the market you will not recognize anything in common between these two.More

Nice draft beer selection. The waitress was aggressive trying to get us all kinds of “popular” appetizers and bread basket etc.. Very unpleasant. The food was ok but definitely overpriced. Unlikely to go again.

Sorry but this place is not worth the money. 4 adults and not one of us enjoyed our meal. Over prices for very bland food. Sea bass was mush. Steamed clams had no taste and calamari was a joke. $250.00 (includes tip) 4 meals, 2...appetizers and a overpriced bottle of white wine. FYI, make sure you check your bill before paying as there were items on ours which we did not order.More

I had been to this restaurant 30 years ago. I knew the owner and the food was fabulous. I am not even sure this is the same restaurant. It took forever for a waiter to finally show up at our table. He had a real...pompous attitude and acted like it was really an imposition that we were there. He was no help at all in selecting a bottle of wine and was no help with our questions regarding the food on the menu. We ordered the clam chowder, which was so pasty and full of flour it was inedible, we sent it back. The crab cakes had the texture and taste of ground up baby food, they did not taste like crab at all. My husbands dinner was the only thing that was eaten, it was just passable. This is really a disappointment, I was so looking forward to eating here again after all my good memories of it. The waiter did not want to talk to us about our dissatisfaction with our dinner, so he sent over the manager, she was rather rude and stuck up for the waiters attitude. She took the inedible things off our bill which was nice, but I left hungry. Will not recommend this place at all.More

Excellent food and service. The crab cakes were fantastic. My husband had the panko crusted calamari steak. It was so good, i made him share with me. We will definitely return if we are ever in this part of the country.

There's a big, laminated card on the table with instructions to pay with your phone, so I did so. I futzed with my phone and credit card, added the 20% tip that automatically came up even though our waitress wasn't great, and entered my email...address to receive my receipt. After we left the manager, Robin, ran out and accused me of not paying in front of my client and strangers outside. I said, "I paid with my phone!" She said, "There's no payment on the table!" Completely mortified I repeated, "I paid with my phone like the card said." We went back and forth a few more times and finally she said, "You paid with your phone? This is all new." No apology. I was so upset I started crying. I had never been accused of a crime before. I had already received my email receipt, surely she could have checked her Point of Sale system? It was the first time I had been to a restaurant since March 13...I believe I will eat at home for a while longer.More

I must start by giving credit to the wait staff, who were attentive and charming, eager to make us happy, and even miraculously found a set of lost car keys! The food is excellent, with a varied menu. We could easily have eaten more than...the three times that we did, but we wanted to try other nearby restaurants. Lots of seafood classics, with also their own unique dishes. Good soups (incl. both white and red clam chowder), nice salads, good mains. It is not cheap eats, but also not excessively expensive. I am eager to return.More

We no longer live in San Diego but we were visiting a friend and since this was always one of our favorite places to eat we decided to go back. We made reservations at 5:00 and found that there was adequate parking. We were quickly...greeted and shown to a table. The server came quickly and we ordered drinks. We like to linger for a while and talk and the server came by periodically and asked if we need anything..perfect. My wife had Oysters Rockefeller, I had Halibut and our friend had the fish tacos. All were perfectly prepared, tasted great and we were very happy. I hardily recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.More
