Turns out this is much more than just another roadside restaurant. It probably is one of the best between Reno and Sacramento off Hwy 80. (easy on/off and parking too). The menu is pretty extensive, creative and reasonably priced. The food is good; the chef clearly knows his business. The space is large with lots of seating and a big... More

Best pizza in Tahoe. Great after a hard day of skiing. Authentic environment. Get the combo pizza!! Either take out or stay in.

The food was tasty but the prices were high and the portions very small. Had a French dip sandwich, mostly bread very little meat at $11. My wife had a Caesar salmon salad, about 2 oz of salmon and not even real Caesar dressing, $14. Would not return

Rustic, historic, building. Lots of windows for a view. Great bar too. Nice choice of options at lunch. They had upscale food. I was expecting pretty basic since they are in the middle of no where. Fabulous salads for lunch. Our server was very friendly and helpful in making our choices. A great place to take visiting relatives. Lots of... More

This is the first time I’ve actually sat down to write a bad review about a restaurant, but tonight’s experience compels me to do so. I am a Sugar Bowl food and beverage employee and I live at Donner Summit Lodge (DSL), the Sugar Bowl employee housing that is attached to the Summit Restaurant & Bar. Tonight (a Saturday) I... More

We stopped originally for gas but decided to eat. We had a tuna melt and a cheese burger. Service was slow but she was alone with a slightly busy day. The ladies next to us were very pleasant to chat with. Food was good, service was good and atmosphere with the locals there was very nice.

We stay at Donner Summit several times a year, for a couple of weeks at a time. We eat at the Summit Restaurant about once a week when we're here. Often the place feels quite empty, but we always enjoy being there. We especially like the grilled salmon sandwich, Maria's special salad, the pizzas, and Tuesday Tacos. The burgers are... More

Didn't actually eat here. We arrived at approximately 11:50 AM on a Sunday morning for breakfast, and were absolutely the only customers in the whole restaurant. This was on a beautiful, clear morning after a recent snow, with lots of traffic on I-80. The waitress brought us a menu but then returned to the bar area to "visit" with another... More
