So run down it's unbelievable. Only open weekends. Do NOT stay in the attached hotel/motel. It is a dump! There is a very nice B&B called Arkys nearby. The restaurant needed a facelift 20 years ago. Service abd food were only so-so.

We stumbled on the Ship Ashore Restaurant. It is off the main Highway, down a long driveway through an older RV park. We were checking in to the adjacent Ship Ashore Motel, and then were going to work on finding something to eat. The front desk staff recommended their own restaurant, but it were going to pass, mostly because it... More

Delicious food served in a casual atmosphere. We arrived on a Saturday, so the prime rib was available (it was perfectly prepared, tender and juicy). Two people in our party had the clam chowder (after another diner recommended it as she was leaving, when she overheard our table discussion about what to order). It was homemade, not a commercial base... More

We aren't really sure what this place is about. It's a very catchy theme, albeit a bit dingy on the outside. It was supposed to be open on the evening we went, but it was closed without warning. We were relieved though. The kids were really looking forward to "eating in a boat." As we approached the front door, there... More

The four of us were hungry and looking for some seafood in Smith River. We passed by Ship Ashore Resort/Restaurant not being impressed by what we saw from the road. After checking out several establishments that were either closed or lacking what our mouths were watering for, we returned to Ship Ashore. There was only one car in the parking... More

The view of the river and ocean aside, the food was okay. The hole in the ceiling with exposed insulation and the appearance of black mold was much more off-putting! Since it appears that there are only a few diners per night, it is curious as to how fresh the foods are. We had the prime rib special and didn't... More

The restaurant is the old school type, but the view of the smith river with it's wild life that u can always count on seeing, and the... More

We rented one of the motels lodgings for three nights and decided on takeout one night. We had three orders of the fish & chips, which were great. The fish was very tasty and well cooked, and the fries and coleslaw were homemade. The service was excellent and fast. The dinners were packaged to go extremely well. The price was... More
