I find myself in Sebastopol for work four or five times a year. I found Retrograde on my last visit. Went back each day I was in town. Great coffee that is balanced and richly flavored. I am glad they ship so I can order...it for my home. The breakfast sandwich is delicious! I would fly back just to have it again. Lunch sandwiches sounded great. Since my favorite coffee place is closed on Monday and Tuesday I tried Retrograde based on a friend's recommendation. Good coffee, good eats. And some seating. Very good staff.

We enjoyed a number of visits over several weeks. Usually busy with possible shortage of seating at times, which is a good sign. A young, slightly out there staff were always friendly and chatty. Lattes were generally very good and nicely presented, our snack lunch...was fresh and reasonably priced. Light background music, most people just chatting with friends or using tablets. Some interesting framed wall art of patrons and cafe related theme. A nice ambience and a place to chill.More
