Mega sized coffee cup hit the spot. But the posole was so savory and delicious! The bowl could feed two people. My husband loves my cooking and he is picky when trying other Mexican food. His burrito hit the spot.

Nothing fancy here, but the food is authentic and delicious! Try the molcajete for a real treat - will feed 3-4 people. Off the beaten tourist path, this is worth the 10 ride from Monterey.

Amazing breakfast burritos, my office orders them 10 at a time & they are always great! Bacon, ham, chorizo, spicy sausage, etc. Delish. They also have lots of yummy tortas, with a multitude of filling options. They have a wide variety on their menu & the staff is always very friendly. Easy for take out or dine in.

Best Mexican food I ever tasted. Also the servers were very friendly and helpful. The sauces were full of flavor. The food looked great and tasted that way too.

I am picky and rarely give 5 stars. This restaurant gets it from service to food! We ordered one of our favorite dishes called Mocajete. This dish is served hot in a stoned bowl consisting of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, cactus in a chili chorizo sauce with tortillas The place is not fine dining, but has a friendly atmosphere &... This looks like somewhere serving simple food for local Hispanic people and not somewhere for tourists. Don't be put off though because there is a nice atmosphere, the food is wonderful and the staff are friendly, welcoming and patient even if you do have an English accent and are the only non-Hispanic people there!

This place was recommended to us by our air bnb hosts as "not fancy but authentic and delicious". Between two we had a pot of chilli with shrimp, pork, beef, spiced pork (I think), cheese & cactus all piled on top. It was really filling, tasty and came to $25 including 1 beer.

The airbnb host recommend this restaurant to us. It was really good food. We tried the grinding pot which was sort of a chili with three types of flavorful meat and a nice portion of prawns. We tried the tamale wrapped in banana leaf stuffed with chicken in mole sauce. The Ceviche was also flavorful. Great value.

La Tortuga Torteria did not disappoint! I went because the restaurant had such good tripadvisor reviews. I went twice during my business trip last week, and both times I had burritos. The first was a pork burrito covered in molé, and the second was a chicken burrito with the molé inside. Muy sabroso! I also tried their fresh pineapple and... More
