The Trident Restaurant is located on the water in historic Sausalito, CAOur heated outdoor decks provide a sensational dining experience with spectacular San Francisco bay views. Our outdoor deck is also dog friendly.Inside is an incredible recipe of art and architecture, complemented with a resemblance of an old yacht. The ceiling mural was original to the Trident and painted by Dave Richards, creator of Janis Joplin's infamous 1965 Porsche Cabriolet. On the outside deck, discover one of the most stunning restaurant waterfront views on the west coast, which boasts the skyline of San Francisco, Angel Island and Alcatraz. Waiter told us we had to order food every time we order a round of drinks, (“California rules) while I’m aware of the current California Covid restrictions, this was questionable. And when we said we will order a round and an appetizer and said “that’s...all for now”, we got the check before we were even served our food. He didn’t come back or even looked our way after, and I had to close out with another server. VERY UNWELCOMING. Nice city but don’t waste your money on a $20 Bloody Mary when the cafe down the street is serving the same ones for $7 with far better service. I don’t mean to put a business down but if you’re looking for a great place to unwind after biking across the Golden Gate Bridge, don’t even bother coming here.More

I am sorry that there must have been a mis-understanding with your server, however, due to COVID-19 protocols and requirements, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has mandated that "alcoholic beverages may ONLY be served in the same transaction as a meal". They have...More

This place is absolutely fabulous. I was a little worried that it would be too touristy and just all about the view. Absolutely not. There is a great view, no doubt about that. One of the best in this area. The patio is well-spaced and...we felt very safe given the current COVID issues. The service was outstanding. And so was the food. We started with the heirloom tomato gazpacho. It was one of the best we have ever had. Sometimes gazpacho seems like eating a bowl of salsa. Not this one. Thick and very garlicky. Just delicious. Would order it again and again. My husband thought is seafood linguini ranked among the best he has ever had (and that includes lots of international comparisons). Great seafood to pasta ratio, generous on the pasta and worth the price. Very slightly seasoned with tarragon. My lobster roll was very good (authentic east coast style including the bun). Not the best I have ever had but very good. And we always judge a restaurant by what they do with salad greens. This place was perfect. High quality really fresh greens with an incredible green salad dressing. I will go back and beg for the recipe. Their house branded rosé was wonderful. The place isn't cheap but we thought it was very fairly priced for the location and view. We are locals now and will definitely be back. In fact, we will likely go back this weekend.More

The worst service I've seen in the United States. The pink-haired girl and the manager, not sure if his name is Rick, an elderly man, were rude and very unpleasant and abusive. We loved this restaurant, but with this service we will never go back...there (((More

The waiter was friendly. The food however (Fish and Chips) was too rich, salty and greasy. The fries seemed like they came out of a bag - I had hoped for home-made thick cut, no luck. The coleslaw lacked imagination. At $30 for a portion,...my expectations were warranted. It was a disappointing experience which I will not repeat. The bottom line is that it appears the quality of the food doesn’t correlate with the price point.More

Good Morning, Nic: Your expectations of a great product are certainly warranted! Our pricing is market dictated and cost justified at our required margins. The East Coast Haddock that we use in our Fish & Chips is flown in by our purveyor several times a...More

Trident has been my favorite for years. A spacious deck with amazing water views. Exquisite cuisine. Reasonable prices and great service. It always delivered and is consistent. You got to experience it!

We keep going back to The Trident, hoping to be surprised and rewarded with a good meal. But again we were disappointed. The interior is wonderful- cozy spaces at various elevations, exterior seating on the water for the adventurous, a huge and robust bar, wood...everywhere turned and shaped like artwork, with views out to the Sausalito Bay and San Francisco in the distance to awe everyone. But the food was like re-microwaved dishes, really carelessly put together, and tasteless. We split a Caesar salad, with a mediocre dressing and warm, tired lettuce. Then onto a blackened chicken sandwich, which sounded good but was dry, not blackened, and with limp lettuce and dressing on bread. It was accompanied by shoe string fries, not very hot, and not very crisp. Also, onto the hamburger. It was a small serving of meat, mediocre tasting, and accompanied by the same limp, barely warm fries as the chicken sandwich. We really want to like The Trident- it’s a landmark Sausalito restaurant that’s been there for many years, and is gorgeous inside. Reasonable valet parking as well. But the food is not a suitable companion to the view and interior design. We’ll go back, hoping for better but secretly resigned to disappointment.More

My wife and I have eaten lunch at this restaurant numerous times. The location on the sea front is perfect. The food excellent and service superb. The wine list will cover most tastes. Despite it superb location and quality of service and cuisine it isn’t...too pricey. If you can sit, on the deck to eat, You may need sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen and perhaps a warm garment. There are patio heaters removing the spring and autumn chill. It’s a place to eat slowly, sip wine chat and forget the Corona virus... and all else that’s wrong in life. An escape. Worth a visit.More

First off - it’s the location that really makes this place. On a lovely sunny day, we sat outside on the terrace and took in the view after cycling over the bridge from San Fran. We ate on a Saturday morning about 11:30 so they...were running their brunch menu - the food was lovely and good value for money. Highly recommend the French toast, and my parter enjoyed the tostadas. Had a cocktail each too and a side and the bill came to around 70 dollars, not cheap but by far not the worst around and worth it for the view.More

Call the restaurant directly, and ask/make a reservation. You will most likely need to anyway.
