The atmosphere is cramped and lacking décor but the food however excels in attention to exotic details. Looking at the menu, the prices seem reasonable until the servings arrive. You need more than one refill and they are not complimentary.

Yoshi and his Staff are very attenttive, the Food is absolutely fantastic, not cheap, but worth it. I live in Europe, but visit the Bay Area on a frequent basis, always worth the small detour to visit Sushi Ran!

We flew in from London that afternoon and drove to our accommodation in Sausalito, then a short stroll to this local favourite. We had made a reservation a few weeks before and were warmly greeted. Waiting staff were knowledgeable, very helpful and friendly. Lovely feel...More

Enjoyed a convivial dinner with friends here last night. Very pleasant atmosphere. Genuine, personable and knowledgeable servers. A tad stingy on the portions. Above average freshness of the ebi and very good soft shell crab roll.

Experience a bit mixed. Service was patchy, but very pleasant. Felt that the staff could have been a bit more engaged, both in welcome and explanation. Sushi was very good but, to be fair, the stars of the show were the vegetable dishes (we had...More

When I first went, perhaps 30 years ago, it was tiny and the Japanese sushi chef seemed to be the owner. Now, it is much larger and in two buildings. The people there at lunch don’t seem to have any Japanese sensibilities but were quite...More

Quite disappointed to make reservations for the sushi bar only to discover they stopped preparing the sushi in front of customers. Now they hand orders to people in the back kitchen. This place use to be popular to watch sushi being made at the sushi...More

Sushi Ran was without a doubt the best Sushi restaurant experience I have had in 30 years. Yes, it ended up being a bit pricey after several rounds of ordering but if you want cheap sushi you should just go to the grocery store. If...More

We were celebrating our anniversary and this place came highly recommended. The food was quite good, but I was disappointed by the small portions and high prices. We had to order more food because I was still hungry after what should have been plenty.

Yes, it is not expensive when you consider the wonderful service and excellent fresh sushi. If you have cocktails, even more money is added. 75.00 to 300.00 depending on your choices. Worth every penny..have fun dining.
