Old time diner with great food and modest prices.

If you like the ambiance of diners from a bygone era serving big portions of good comfort food at prices a ranch hand can afford, then The Original Saugus Cafe is for you. Located on Railroad Avenue (name was changed from San Fernando Road) in what was once the town of Saugus near Newhall Ranch... read more

This is one of the oldest diners in Valencia and is open 24 hours a day. It has a classic style, familiar from so many American movies. We went there at about midnight because everywhere else was closed, but there was still several other diners in there with us, including some good old boys in Cowboy hats and boots. Don't... More

Went to breakfast a week ago when my mom came into town. The portions are still what they used to be but the service has gone down dramatically. I had a standard egg-hash brown-toast-sausage meal. The hash browns were the worst I have ever tasted. Seemed burned and warmed up. Not enough to complain. Just trying to get the attention... More

I like the old café's and they are usually the best places to eat good old food. But be careful what you order. I ordered a veggie omelet, hash browns, bacon, toast, and coffee. Coffee, bacon, and toast were good. But when I said veggie omelet I got (old) broccoli and carrots in eggs? The hash browns were cut in... More

I've liked this place in the past but my last Sunday breakfast experience there was really disappointing. All of my food was barely luke warm (eggs over easy, bacon, country fries, sourdough toast) but my friend had hot french toast. Bad kitchen management that let my food sit there while hers was prepared. Worse still was the lipstick (not mine)... More

I've been to Saugus Cafe many times before. I figured it's time I wrote about it. My son and I went there for breakfast last Saturday, and as always it was a really good breakfast. We both ordered the usual, bacon and eggs with sourdough toast and home fries. It was all excellent. The bacon nice and thick, the eggs... More

First time at Historic Saugus Cafe. Good food and friendly service. Wish it was a little cleaner beyond the table though.

The server was very rude and extremely disrespectful. The cockroaches are back at this restaurant. The food will give you the runs. Some men in the kitchen do not wear a head covering. Servers do not cover their face when they sneeze and one server picks her nose. Dinner is served without soup and crackers. You have to ask for... More

I've eaten here numerous times over the years, but just recently I took my family for dinner here, and we all have an enjoyable meal. This restaurant is either the oldest restaurant in Santa Clarita or Los Angeles County, I can't remember which. It has a long history of politicians and movies stars dining here over the years. I believe... More

The food tastes great and the service is fast. They have wide selection at fair prices. The restaurant is just modular housing type construction, so it is not fancy.
