The Basin provides the best combination of overall atmosphere, great bar, interesting and variable selection of dishes and outstanding service, all for a reasonable price. Our restaurant to go to in Saratoga, hands down.

The boss greets you at the door in jeans and a flannel shirt. This is not a pretentious, stuffy restaurant. Make no mistake though, the food and the service are everything one expects from a high quality fine dining restaurant in a highly competitive area. There are many top-notch restaurants on the block and The Basin is among the best.... More

First, let's get the obvious out of the way; OpenTable says this is a $$ restaurant. When a glass of wine starts at $11 for the cheapest no-name wine that probably cost $9 for the whole bottle, you know this is not a two-dollar-sign restaurant. A glass of Figge Pinot Noir was $15, and a bottle was $60. This is... More

I eat seafood everywhere, especially when on a coast and my halibut here was cooked to perfection! They were very accommodating with my gluten allergy as well. I was even able to eat their truffle fries, which was a bonus. Our server helped us choose a delicious wine tho pair with our meal.

I have gone here dozens of time since they opened over 15 years ago. Andrew and his chef run an outstanding place. Good food, good service and good atmosphere. Never had a bad meal. One of the best restaurants in the South Bay. Be sure to get the Jamon Iberica ham. Acorn feed from Spain and you almost can not... More

Big bar gives it a modern vibe. Food is better than average, but not at higher end level like some other Saratoga restaurants. Not fancy enough for a special occasion, but a bit pricey for a casual get together.

Wonderful menu and wine list. Owner is on top of service and quality. Outside patio which is inside the restaurant is a lovely and quiet spot. The Mushroom rigatoni is exceptional. Very enjoyable meal accompanied by a relaxing atmosphere and smart service.

You can't miss with this spot. Trust me I know. The menu is simple but varied. Great for carnivores and veggies.

Executive summary - Service level is great - Food is excellent - Interior is a bit dark when the sun is shinning but will get better when dark outside - I don't like the TVs (do not belong in a restaurant...) Let me begin to say that they have some very smart, social and really service minded people in the... More

We love the Basin for a place to go for a delicious dinner. We've been coming since it opened. It's relaxing and good food. If possible we try to sit on the patio. They can turn on the heaters if it's chilly.
