The food was absolutely great. The service was also great. Full bar with great wine selection. Menu was broad enough to satisfy. We had lamb chops and a pork chop. Both done to perfection. The lamb was enough to satisfy two people. I would recommend this restaurant too everyone. You will not find a better one in Southern California.

Loved the atmosphere, had great service, and the meal was fabulous from start to finish! I had the sole and my mother had a steak and both were delicious.

It's that good. Had prime rib last night and the salmon tonight. Fabulous bread selection to start, good variety of local wines by the glass and amazing desserts.

The food was excellent and service was outstanding. We were near the bar and it was very noisy. Nice family place also.

In a region full of great restaurants, this was a delight. Steak cooked to perfection; perfect portions and wonderful dessert menu. Already sent texts to friends who frequent this region, telling them to try this restaurant on their next visit. PS--for aviators, it's a brisk walk from Santa Ynez airport.

First of all you need to make reservations. We go here every year with family. The menu is limited but what they served is awesome. They had about 5 items for vegetarians but you need to ask for the vegie plats because its not on the menu. Customer service was excellent.

My sister and I visited after a long hiatus. Used to go when it was just called The Red Barn. After 18 months they have reopened with new owners. Lunch was very tasty. I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich. Large, fresh bun with an even larger piece of chicken. Came with lettuce, tomatoes and avocados, plus a mayo dressing with... More

We were exploring and got talking with a shop owner who recommended this place for their Kobe beef burgers. We both ordered them and, in particular, my Stilton and carmelized onion burger was really delicious. My husband's house cheeseburger too! And, when I asked for crispy fries, for once, I actually got them. Dessert list looked tempting but we restrained... More

Description
With a fresh, de rigueur exterior of barn-red paint, the interior expresses the warmth of a local tavern, using clean lines and a rustic feel. Accented with oak, restored branded wood beams, a white paneled ceiling and wrought iron lighting, the L-shaped room is refreshed, with higher ceilings and massive glass windows that open the space. As before, there is an open display kitchen observing the chefs at work. Newly created for the restaurant is a glass-enclosed wine room flanking the dining room that co-exists with two wood-burning fireplaces preserved from the original Red Barn. Firewood is supplied by the Agin Brothers, the family that has serviced the Nichols family with seasoned wood for ten years. Two wrought iron and rope chandeliers, hand crafted by local blacksmith Hans Duus, illuminate the room and are lighted with replicas of vintage Edison light bulbs, with more of the Edison-styled glass globes accenting the room. The walls are decorated with historical photographs of Los Rancheros Visitores, the club of local horsemen and ranchers dating back to 1929. Salvaged during the construction was wallpaper discovered under layers of paint and paneling, beautifully illustrated with dancing girls, pistols, playing cards and saloons, now preserved, framed, and gracing the dining room walls. JC's handsome bar was created by locals Scott and Chris Bruhn who used a felled pine tree salvaged from Figueroa Mountain to form the expansive bar top.
