A must for tequila aficionados. Great variety of brands and drink presentations. Dittos for the food. Our server recommended the pasilla chili relleno which my wife ordered and was wonderful. I had the carne asada which was also very good. The service was great as well so all in all a great experience. A little pricey but definitely worth it.

Look I love Mexican food and being Mexican American I can say I know a bit about Mexican food. My wife and I had the sopes and not only were they delicious they were also filling. The masa was soft and delicious. I also had the chili verde and that was good too. Their bean salsa is really good. I... More

Nice and fun place. The margaritas are STRONG. (Strong enough that I didn't particularly care for mine truthfully.) The carne asada nachos were incredible. And the enchiladas are delicious. It's nothing that really stands out, but it was a solid meal. Note that they close ridiculously early. Maybe 9pm?

Very good but, IMHO, not great, Mexican fare. The decor was tasteful and comfortable. There were two people to greet everyone upon their arrival, but the apparently more-than-adequate staff didn't seem to translate to a great deal of attentiveness to the seated diners' needs. Compared to other quality Mexican restaurants in Southern CA, the food was somewhat pricey.

I live in Phoeix,so Mexican food is ubiquitous. But I look forward to my annual visits to the Solvang area and never miss the opportunity to have one of my meals at Dos Carlitos. The food is extremely well prepared, flavorful, and generous portion. The guacamole is perfect. I ha the carnitas tacos, tons of meat here. Hubby had the... More

House made guacamole (which was comped from a Friendship Pass from For Friends Inn) was delicious, as well as a huge serving. Tasty chips with regular tomato salsa, as well as another salsa of black beans, corn, tomatoes, onions, chiles and cilantro. Large entree servings, very good meal.

Dos Carlitos is a higher end mexican restaurant. The food was awesome and they made some very tasty margaritas. Had the Al Pastor it was excellent and the salsa was great as well

Good food, good service. The steak burrito is filled with lots of good meat, and is more than I can eat in one meal. So half is taken home for next day's lunch. We eat there at least 3 times a month.

If you want Mexican food but with a fresh take, Dos Carlitos is it. Fun setting and great drinks, patio dinning. We love to go there on a warm summer evening.
