As craft beer enthusiasts, we had heard a lot about it (unfortunately they don't ship to Italy) so this was an obligatory stop for us. Anyone who talks about this place as 'a pub that serves beer' should go elsewhere. The beer is one of the best in the USA, and especially the IPAs are the best I've ever had. The staff smiling and quick. Good food and we spent some really pleasant hours. Compliments

We stopped for lunch on our way back to Healdsburg on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant was busy but we were seated right away. We ordered the medium Mikey’s pizza and it was excellent. It came out of the kitchen piping hot, everything tasted so fresh and the crust was nice and crisp! Service was very good and pizza did not disappoint!

We have enjoyed trips to Sonoma and Napa valley destinations many times now but we return to the Santa Rosa area mainly for this brewery! 2 properties; the larger and newer in Windsor, but the older brewpub is in downtown Santa Rosa. About 2 dozen beers to choose from including the famous “Pliny the Elder” and seasonal sought after “Pliny the younger”. Another citrusy favorite of mine “ Mind Circus “. Good food and pizza in general , but I must recommend “Pliny bites” which is a large pizza pan filled with finger sized cheese and jalapeño squares. I’m not usually a big beer drinker but have to agree with my wife that Pliny the Elder is just a wonderful mild double IPA and worth the trip all by itself! There is an amazing tasting flight that has 21 beer samples but be warned: 4 or 5 sours are included. Not my fav. We visited RRBC 3 times in a 4 day trip. It’s that good, check it out!

We were so excited to visit RRB in Santa Rosa tonight, April 11, 2024, but the evening ended in a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT due to an extremely unprofessional employee. We love RRB beers so my husband and his friend approached the bar to purchase t-shirts. They were rudely scolded for heading towards the “store” because it was closed, and when our friend tapped the offended waiter on the shoulder to apologise the bartender freaked out and accused him of poking him & “invading his personal space”. My husband and his friend were so taken aback they refused to buy T-shirts and decided to leave . I then approached the manager and explained how disappointed we were at the rude bartender’s reaction and suggested he do something to appease his guests. He agreed it was a misunderstanding and appeared to decide to resolve it but then did nothing. I then approached the rude bartender directly but he only became more belligerent, suggesting that l was lying. I explained that if there was a misunderstanding, it was on him, as a customer service employee, to recognise it and fix it, but he could not be reasoned with. There was absolutely zero motive for these two 50 year old guys to behave aggressively! Not sure what his problem or insecurity is but it really left a bad impression on us. RRB has a really good thing going. Why do they want to spoil it with a bad employee at the bar?

We stopped here on the way through town. We had looked it up online and saw some good reviews. The pizza we had was very good. I love the thin, crispy crust on it and the sauce was also tasty. My biggest disappointment was that since we were going to be driving several more hours that day I wasn't comfortable ordering a beer. They had a good selection on beers on the menu and I would have loved to try one. We sat outside on a beautiful day.

Stopped in for beer, sampled the CA flight. Favorites: Pliny the Elder (of course) & Mind Circus - hazy IPA. Also snacked on Crudite: fresh veggies, homemade hummus & grilled naan bread.

We researched a few locations and decided on Russian River. We were greeted with a smile - even through the mask the smile was obvious. We only waited a few minutes for an outdoor table. Our waiter, Jeffrey, was excellent! The pizza seemed to be their top menu item, but we had recently had pizza and opted to not have it. So meatball sandwich and Simcoe calzone it was. Both good, but the pizzas looked awesome! Beer was good, mostly IPAs. Overall, a very fun night.

Best beer in the world. Enough said. Me and my wife were not able to get to eat. Pliny the Younger made up for both. I have been wanting to try it for 5 years finally got a chance and you best believe it is the best beer in the world. My dad (RIP) drank Miller High Life in the 80’s. This is above that and all beers. Thank You Russian River Brewing Crew and OWNERS for making this possible. Thank You for my wife standing in line when it was cold at night who I love so much just so I could try Pliny The Younger. Here I am writing a review at 3:44 am drinking a take home pint. The bartenders there are super chill and are working 300% a min. Thank You guys and girls there ( RRBC). The people that stand in line are super chill except a few loud ones that need attention but once you drink Pliny the Younger that is what gets all the attention.

A long time resident and Northern California native, I was visiting friends and family in the Bay Area. Hadn't been to the brewpub built by Pliny the Elder IPA. A beer enthusiast for many years and former beer industry worker, made the one hour drive to have lunch and have an IPA. Arrived late morning on a Saturday. Outdoor seating was 50% at capacity, many tables and most of the bar was full. Full food menu at the bar. Ordered a 10" pizza. New York style. Very good! Good balance cheese to pepperoni. Not too oily and thin crisp crust - American fare - sizeable menu. Options for vegetarians High ceilings. Lots of natural light. Clean and well managed. Professional and friendly staff. Excellent knowledge of their menu and beer selection. Ordered a second beer. They offer 8oz pours on several beers. A bottle shop attached to the restaurant with a cooler box and brewery merch at a separate register I will definitely visit again

After a wonderful day of touring a number of wineries, the Russian River Brewing Company would not have been our first as a dinner venue. However, never having been to Santa Rosa before, we relied upon our traveling companions who frequent the area often. If you like beer and noise, then this could be your cup of tea. We enjoy neither beer nor noise, but we give this restaurant a decent rating because it clearly was popular and the food was tasty. Ambience leaves something to be desired since big is not necessarily better, and elbow-to-elbow crowds do not work for us. We did not have a reservation, so got one of the worst tables next to the hostess podium.

Pliny the Younger for 16 years caused cult followers to swarm and line up for three plus hours to taste the “triple” IPA. The Younger is different every year. In 2019, the Younger had an amazing floral aromatic taste - this year (2020) that is missing. In fact, the brew this year is not worth the wait. Further, Russian River staff is seemingly overwhelmed by the crowds; their attitude is less than stellar. I would hope management stop watching the cash register and start recognizing that part of the experience is treating “the Cult” with a warm welcome, friendly smile and appreciation. Russian River fell short on many fronts in 2020 and should take a page from Hen House Brewery- Big Chicken!

Pliny the Elder is one of the beers that made me like IPAs and we were really lucky to come here a few years ago on a trip to Northern California. We had an absolutely blast here and were really surprised at how good the food tasted! We had wings, beer bites, and pepperoni pizza and we honestly would come back for the food even if we didn't like beer; it was that good! The beer was the real star though and we absolutely loved that we were able to get a flight of 18 beers, which is the most we've had at any brewery and they were all so good! Their sour program is just as good as their IPAs and Russian River is just an absolutely fantastic place to visit. We're hoping to come to Northern California again for a few conferences in the next year!

Was looking forward to trying their beer and possibly dinner. Despite having an extensive outdoor area sectioned off, I was told they were "in the process of closing" the outdoor area, and the two outdoor tables were occupied. I could wait at the bar, order a beer, and take it out to the bench. The problem was, getting anyone's attention to do so was nearly impossible. It's disappointing they don't have a mechanism in place for those that prefer to exercise a bit more caution. I don't blame the business for serving customers indoors at the packed bar that prefer that; however I'm disappointed they aren't utilizing the remainder of their space for those that don't (clearly the city of Santa Rosa allowed them to block off a whole section of parking). The beer was enjoyable, the experience disappointing - I won't choose to support this business in the future.

Go here, the selection of beers are excellent, they will try to fit you in for a table if you book, it always seemed to be busy when I passed, or more likely went in. The wings are excellent and the pizza is also very good. Atmosphere is laid back and friendly. Don't miss it if you are in town.

First of all, 3 stars is average not bad. Heard a lot about Russian River and even though it's not our style, we decided to give it a try. The establishment is sizeable with outdoor seating on a main street in small town Santa Rosa. The service was good, our waitress was nice. The beers were mostly IPA as expected, but our palates prefer more sours, belgian style etc over "hoppiness." There was nothing bad about our experience, but also nothing outstanding. I did see another customer order 1 taster of each beer which was an impressive spread, but it's surely difficult to enjoy all before they get warm because they're so small.
