During our stay in Sonoma, we had to take a trip north to Santa Rosa to visit the Russian River Brewing Company. Just a 25 minute drive to sample some of the finest craft brews in the United States. Our mission was to bring home some Piney the Elder brew back east, can't get it there. To make a long... More

I have been visiting the RRBC for about 3 years now. My wife and I travel from Southern California to Sonoma County about once a month specifically to visit the Brewery. I love their sour beers (Supplication, Temptation, Consecration, Compunction), basically really enjoy their right side of the beer menu. And although I'm not a huge IPA drinker, Pliny and... More

This very popular brewery, one of many in Santa Rosa, is always real crowded and busy and loud and frankly overrated. The beer is fine. The food is mediocre typical bar food. Frankly I like many other breweries better and don't have to wait in line and endure deafening noise when I visit. Maybe I'm missing something but standing in... More

Go later, maybe 9:30pm or later -- this gets you a seat at the bar. Great nationally appreciated beers and good handmade food-- dive in. It may seem the bartenders don't see you but they do! Just look one in the eye or lift a hand or say hello-- they're always willing to share expertise about the beers they love.... More

Every time we are in the area we stop. Good food and great beer home of Pliney the Elder and barrel aged beers. Evenings and the weekends the place is packed

This place has the best beer on the planet!! That being said give this place a try for the great people it attracts. The staff are laid back, knowledgable and very accommodating. The food is really good and goes well with the wide selection of beer and wine available. We have frequented this brewery for ten years and it is... More

Food is regular beer bar food. Nothing exciting. I've had several of the beers. Damnation being my favorite. The "Pliny's" are too hoppy for my tastes and certainly not worth standing in line.

I love their beer and pizza, but I can't handle the crowds. Just too busy with too many customers. That being said, there is not much RRB can do about that.

The lines could be excused if the venue was larger with more elbow room. As it is it's always so loud that it's nearly impossible to have any sort of conversation. If you're just coming for the beer and you don't mind the lines, then you probably won't mind. If you're new to their beers then be sure to get... More

First and last visit. Would not recommend this place if you prefer a friendly wait staff. Location attracts a certain clientele that we don't blend with so it was a bad selection for us. We visited on a Friday evening @ 9 after arriving in town. We were not expecting a 1hr 20 min wait for a table so we... More
