We really enjoyed the service and food that was served to us for lunch. Authentic and hearty portions made this a great place to enjoy Mexican food!

I say ‘Hole in the Wall’ in complimentary fashion…it reminds me of the many small taquerias in Cabo San Lucas that we frequent – painted with bright colors outside, located in a parking lot on a busy street [Montgomery] with all the windows open…. road noises mixing with lively Mexican music playing from wall speakers, mixed with the spicy smells of the grilling pork, chicken & beef cooking in the open kitchen.
It’s a very casual Mexican restaurant, located in a bright yellow-&-red trim, concrete building, with an L-shaped dining room with a red-ish concrete floor, populated with several very heavy old mahogany tables and chairs. When you enter, there is a long counter separating the kitchen from the dining room, and you enter into the “Order Here” line…. The brightly lit, yellow, 3’X6’ plastic, extensive menu which offers a wide array of burritos, tacos, nachos fajitas, salads, sides…, is hung on the wall. Your choice of drinks includes 3 types of punch, beer, water or soda and your choices, in glass bottles, are lined up on the counter. Self-serve salsa and utensils are on a cart in the dining room. The Bathroom is clean but only one person at a time. All walls are basically windows, and there are ceiling fans. They accept phone orders for pick-up. Large portions of homemade food. The fajitas were fantastic and messy just the way I like them. The tostada was good but served a flat tortilla, not in a hard shell…not much ambience but great food.

This has always been a great place to get a great meal but Lepe's support to the first responders during the Santa Rosa fires will be another reason why I will continue to frequent this local business

I love the fish tacos here but the kids ordered carne asada tacos. They were not impressed. Stick with the fish tacos and be ready to pay for pick de gallo..

when we crave mexican food, we always know we can get what we want at lepe's . . .
sorry to see old mexico shut down because that was our favorite for a sit-down mexican dinner, but lepe's is consistently good, prices are reasonable and service is ok . . .
not a lot of seating, but we usually do take-out . . .

I have been going to Lepe's for years, but hadn't been in a long time. Ever since Old Mexico closed however :-(, I have been thinking I'd give it a try. Bad decision.
I had a large burrito Al Pastor. It used to be a dependably good choice but tonight it was terrible. The meat was flavorless and the whole wrap was cold in the middle. If I hadn't been so hungry, I would have sent it back.
The salsas are boring and blah and so are the chips: just out of the bag type. My friend said his fish tacos were OK, but I didn't try them. I won't be back.

Wonderful food. great prices. Good variety. Fabulous service. My favorite quick meal is a meat taco, side of beans and side of guacamole, and a horchata or jamaica!

This was our go to Mexican spot. Our last visit we ordered the same old gol burritos and we not satisfied. The steak (carne asada) nested like boil meat and the chicken tasted like rubber. The place has gotten very dirty also. The gal taking the money was handling money and food with no washing or gloves in between. There were lots of flies and dirty floors. We have noticed the change during our last 2 visits and will probably not go back. There are so many other choices in the area that are cleaner and tastier. The prices have gone up and up and the quality has gone down and down. It is sad...

This place was started by jose the main cook at the old famous pepe's taqueria in roseland. Lepe's has the same authentic taste, great homemade corn tortillas on the weekends, amazing salsa and chips, it is a must visit for me every time I come top Santa Rosa. Jose has been my favorite cook for 30 years#

Stopped in for a quick dinner to go. Ordered the Al Pastor Burrito, and really enjoyed it...It was quite large, so I have lunch for today. Chips were hot and thin. Sauces were a tad fiery for me, but my husband loved.

We love to stop in here before or after a movie, or just anytime we need a really goood Mexican food fix! Never disappointed here. We were two couples looking for a casual dinner. We had fahitas, nachos, guacamole, chile rellanos, all well prepared, served as they come up and help your self to water and salsas.

We were introduced to Lepe's by some friends of ours. It is a small restaurant not far from Spring Lake Park, which is also highly recommended. If you are looking for some non-Tex-Mex Mexican food, then this is your place.
Portions are generous and the flavors will rock your taste buds. If you do not know what to get, go for the steak quesadilla. It is almost as thick as a Burrito, but packed with cheese and steak with guacamole and greens on the side.
And if you are famished, the burritos are stuffed to capacity with everything but the kitchen sink.
Bottles of Mexican beer, Mexican sodas and Horchata are available to drink.

Just stopped by for lunch today and had delicious fish tacos! It has been a while since I have stopped by (we moved out of town) but I would say it is just as great as it has always been. The prices are reasonable and the service was quick too. The only complaint I had was that the music was a bit loud. Not easy to converse with you companions over the music!
