Tia Babes just has not made the jump (or effort) to step it up to good or excellent. So many Mexican restaurants in Santa Paula to choose from; most are better

Just finished a day trip and didn't want to cook, so being a Mexican food junkie we decided to stop, nice and clean, not many people in restaurant but love the style and cleanest. They served salsa and chips as we sat down, now let me tell you being a Mexican food junkie I can tell you before ordering the... More

Nice, comfortable space with fairly attentive service (though the asked-for Ranch dressing was never brought). The food varies from bland (cheese enchiladas) to a bit over-the-top pepper spice (the salsa served initially with our chips). None of the food was what we would describe as memorable (nor was it awful), save for the unusual presence of perfectly fried Tater Tots... More

The food here is excellent. As a vegetarian I just get a drink here but all friends love the beans here because they put bacon in the refried beans (their secret).

I have been here three times and keep swearing I will never return. I should follow my own advice! taco stand food in a nice huge restaurant at taco stand prices. It's nothing special and the wait staff is incompetent. The place is beautiful, but so slow, they have actually had to resort to putting out a sign saying, "Yes!... More

The old Tia Babe's was a bit of a dive, but the food totally rocked. The new one, not so much. It's big and new and atmospheric, but the food doesn't begin to compare with before.

Liked all of it. The salsa is good but it's a little on the hot side for most people. I had the enchilada special with a salad on the side, with a glass of ice tea. The service was very good and served promptly. She kept my tea topped off and the salsa dish filled, along with the chip dish.... More

The old location of Tia Babe's had a restaurant that served great Mexican food at good prices. The new location of Tia Babe's not so much.
