Discovered Benny's tacos. The best fish taco. And you can choose fried or grilled. The grilled fish had a wonderful smoky taste. Both red and green salsas were very good. The price is very reasonable.
COVID-19 they are only doing pick up and to go orders and even with that it is still insanely busy. I can't imagine how it was before when dining was allowed. I had chipotle chicken quesadilla and rotisserie chicken taco. I really enjoyed both of...the dishes I ordered. They do not skimp on the meat which is a huge plus.
Authentic Mexican food that isn't from a taco truck! I will be back to explore the rest of their menu.More
I’m obsessed with tacos and I ordered Benny’s Taco’s from Postmates. They were super good. They don’t necessarily follow order requests but their tacos are great. The chicken is so good it melts in your mouth. They put tons of shrimp on the shrimp tacos...too. Thanks Benny’s!More
Arrived late-ish from the airport, this spot made for an easy quick dinner. Guac and chips was tasty as were the tacos, steak and adobo chicken. Patio seating convenient but could use a little more heating on a cool night.
Mexican restaurant that also offers rotisserie chicken. Came here on a Sunday evening for an early dinner around 5pm and it wasn’t busy. You order at the counter (they do takeout and catering too) then they’ll give you a number to hold onto until they...bring out your food. For the four of us, we got a whole chicken with one side ($16.95) and it came out in about 7 minutes. There’s a salsa bar inside that also has onions, cilantro, and three types of salsas (the green one is my favorite, but the smoother red one was spicier). For the chicken, you have the choice of corn or flour tortillas. The rotisserie chicken had good flavor on the skin but the meat was a tad dry. However you can put the chicken with the onions and cilantro in the tortilla for some mini tacos. There’s a soda dispenser outside the counter ($2.95 for a drink, just the large size is available). The tacos are decent (I like the shrimp) and the churros are also good (although they’re best when one so keep them wrapped up until you’re ready to eat them). There’s some seating inside but it’s primarily two-seater tables - the outside has the larger tables. There’s some parking in the back or you can find metered parking along Wilshire. Overall it’s a reasonably priced spot for some Mexican food and chicken.More
The grilled shrimp burrito was absolutely amazing. We were looking for a simple non chain Mexican locally and this was bang on. Not fussy not too expensive.
We ordered the shrimp burrito and a few tacos which were nice but nothing on the shrimp burrito...haha it was amazing. Deffo coming back to get another soon.More
We had our dinner delivered so everything was not piping hot. At the same time, the whole rotisserie chicken was excellent and the flour tortilla was also first-rate. I would definitely get it again with the fresh salad and the cabbage salad. It also comes...with salsas and a garlic white sauce. I wouldn't get the tacos again; the corn tortilla was tough and rubbery (maybe because they were not warm), but the fillings were not great either. Remarkably, the Postmates delivery was exactly on time.More
The food is very solid. I can see why people come here.
You walk in and order at the counter once you make it to the front of the line (which could be pretty long apparently, we only waited 15 minutes). The menu posted on...the wall is a bit overwhelming -- how can you choose just a few things to eat for dinner???
Burrito that I ordered was great.
Chips & guac -- the guacamole was disappointing since it really didn't have much flavor at all, just good taste of avocado, but no seasoning and no spice at all.
Horchata -- standard, nothing outrageous.
Have to ding the place though on the seating/dining area.
There's not a lot of tables inside, and definitely not enough tables for groups of 4+, so we ate in their outdoors area that's slightly enclosed. It was early-May, so not the hottest time of the year, but the space heaters they had outside weren't enough to keep us warm for long. So maybe better to go in small groups so you have a better chance to eat inside, or go when it's a bit warmer out.
Otherwise, solid place.More
Wife and I visited at my daughters recommendation. The staff is very friendly. The tacos are huge. I had the three Barbados taco special. Absolutely delicious. Their guacamole is enough for four people. I washed it down with their horchata. Great meal. If you are...in the area You have to go!More

Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller
coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
