We were In Los Angeles visiting our son who has just moved out here for a job. The Celtics were playing the Heat in game seven of the eastern conference championships. A googled best sports bar for Boston fans in Los Angeles and Sonny Mcleans...Was on the top of every list. The game was at 5:45 Pacific time. We got to the place at 4:15. We started with drinks and appetizers and they were terrific. The place has a great beer list with many excellent brews on tap. For appetizers we had a giant pretzel, buffalo chicken bites, and chips and guacamole and everything was excellent. My wife who loves margaritas and said they were great. The place started filling up with Boston fans a little bit before five and it was amazing how green the room was and how nice all the people were to one another. A little bit before game time we were ordered dinner. Pizza and burgers were terrific and delicious. This is not junky bar food by any stretch. Excellent ingredients and very well prepared by a chef or kitchen staff who cares about the food as much as the park cares about drinks. We had a great time especially because the Celtics won. I rhink any sports fan will love this place if they are in Santa Monica or close by in Los Angeles. I especially suggest this place to any sports fan from New England. Food and drink gets an A+ as does the atmosphere and the effort shown by the staff.More

I started going to the pub to see friends, but things have changed. The food is just OK and lately the bartenders misunderstand the orders and they give larger portions than ordered. When I spoke to the owner, the problem was not the bartender and...the bartenders are increasing orders together bigger tips. I have decided to do 2btgings because the owners don't care and said so. #1. I'm reducing the number of times I go per week to once a month. It won't have a major impact for one person, but if others follow it will. Second, I'm tipping for swevice, not the bill. If they bring me what I order and treat me right, I'll gladly pay 20%. If they order larger portions I don't ask for, etc I'm going to tip least. The sum of my bill will not be 15%...it might be 5% or it might be 25%. My tips won't be based on the bill total. . The food here is marginal I ordered corn beef and cabbage on St. PATRICK'S day. I have no clue what I ate, but it was awful. Maybe when my tips reflect my thoughts things will change. Obviously my business I'd not appreciatedMore

We live in the Boston area, visiting LA looking for a good spot to watch the Patriots game. This was definitely the right place. As it got closer to game time more and more Pats fans of all ages arrived. The bartender was welcoming and...all the staff were friendly. We shared appetizers that were quite good. Would definitely come back.More

Totally cool Irish Pub that is close to Brentwood. We stopped by for last call and I loved the Boston/CA Irish Pub Theme. Of course we drank Guinness and I'm looking forward to going back for a meal. The GastroPub Menu looked great and some...of the locals were raving about the food. Great sports pub atmosphere.More

Place was standing room only and spirited! Mostly Notre Dame fans for the college football playoff semi-final. Despite the crowd the service was awesome....never waited for a a drink or food and eventually landed a table. The food is all really good pub grub and...the bar and beer is extensive. Of note the Bloody Mary's were "made with love" Easy to see why this place so popular and fun!More

I got to visit here in 2013 and was just back again in July 2018. They have a great range of beers and the fod is also fantastic. If I lived nearby this would be my local "watering hole".

Good selection of beers, plenty of sport screens, tables, booths, seats at the bar etc. OK for a drink. Certainly not a pub, it's more a bar, and, apart from the name of the place, is not Irish, nor does it resemble any drinking places...I've been to in Ireland, with the possible exception of DublinMore

When I walked into Sonny MacLeans , I felt like I was back in Boston. A gazillion TV’s blaring, playing every sport imaginable. Most of the crowd was watching the Celtics game & the cheers & groans filled the room . After the game ,...most of the happy hour crowd thinned out and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was . I had grilled cheese & homemade tomato soup , the Boston Irish meatless Friday staple and it was Dee - lishous ! Next time I’ll try the Lobsta roll .More

Tons of tvs to watch whatever sport you'd like. It's strength is so many craft brews on tap along with a weak full bar. Lots of food choices from sandwiches and burgers to curry and fried clams. Does well and is often crowded especially during...big sporting events. Worst part is that the beer is quite expansiveMore

Just started going to this Pub, I love that you can order different sized Pints of Beer, I prefer the 24oz Glass! Rachel is a Great Bartender with a lovely personality, and is the most efficient host. She can socialize with the Customers and still...serve at the same time! There is free Darts with 3 boards and plenty of sets......and a nice Pool table that is only $1 a game! Really nice Pub!More
