We went to Cora's Coffee Shoppe because it was a few doors down from the Marriott Le Marigot hotel on Ocean Avenue. There was a line waiting to get in, but it moved pretty quickly. We were seated in the adjoining covered sidewalk patio, and comfortable. We had pancakes, yogurt and fruit, coffee and hot chocolate. It was good and... More

I heard great reviews for the place BUT when we went for breakfast ... well it did not live up to the expectations. First of all the choices were limited. All the recommended dishes by others were not available for breakfast although they were listed on a blackboard (presumably for the night before). Service was very very slow. We asked... More

I had some buckwheat and blueberry pancakes with a little butter and maple syrup. Came fast and hot with two large pancakes that was perfect as I was quite hungry after my morning surf in Malibu. I was thirsty and with a glass of fresh orange juice it was a fine meal. I came in about 10:45am this morning ,... More

Went here for breakfast. Little cosy cafe, very nice service, the food was very yammy. Definitely worth a visit.

The Smoked Salmon Benedict, which is only served on the weekends was just as delicious as waiter advertised, yummy! Every dish that was marched by our table as we waited patiently on the cutest patio was yummier looking than the next. All the hype about this place is true, every bite was filling and satisfying. Our waiter was very descriptive... More

There was a bit of a line on the pavement when we arrived, but we wrote our name in the book and got a table outside within 20 minutes. They have all the classical breakfast options, as well as some more original variations. Everything was fresh, plentiful and delicious. Staff is attentive and helpful. I'll definitely be back here next... More

Prices are average for the area. The restaurant is clean, offers fast service, and home cooked meals. It is a small place, so call ahead for seating if you have a large group. It is handicapped accessible. Eat outside under a canopy of vines and flowers. It is very nice. and very close to the beach. It is a come... More

One of the best places we ate while I'm Santa Monica. Fresh food and friendly service. We would highly recommend for breakfast or lunch!

This little dive in Santa Monica looks cute and homey. The Breakfast menu was fine looking. The food was average. All the wheels went off the wagon when I saw a bug near my seat. The most important thing to me in a restaurant, I don't care if it is fine dinning or a taco truck, that it not have... More

Only visited for breakfast - the breakfast burrito is great, also scrambled eggs with chorizo is superb ... Great local alternative and reasonably priced too. Good service - can get busy though which is a good sign !

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
