because I love it! The service is always consistent and the atmosphere bustling and buzzing! My favorite dish is the Veal Chop (not on the menu); the pasta can be a bit 'hit or miss' for me, sometimes good, sometimes a bit to stodgy. I don't drink cocktails but my friends always tell me how great the cocktails are here.... More

Of Italian-American descent and having grown up in NY/NJ, I'm about as spoiled as you can get when it comes to Italian-Amrican food. I'd been searching for a place to call my "food home" on the West Side and finally found it. The decor itself, dark brown wood paneling with glass accents, reminds me of stepping into any favourite, possibly... More

Not everyone is going to love Vito. But if you ever saw the movie "Big Night" or wanted to be part of Frank Sinatra's rat pack, this place is for you. Dark room, cozy booths, strong drinks, and lots of red sauce- the only thing missing is Old Blue Eyes! Reservations are essential on Fridays and Saturdays: on most other... More

Food, service, ambience were all excellent. It was a warm and Wonderful evening! Italian restaurant with old elegance, warm wood and soft lighting. Drinks were generous and perfectly made. Food was fabulous...old style and delicious.

I almost don't want to recommend this place because it is already so busy. The Boomers come early - the Millennials come late and they both love it equally. This is my husband's and our daughter's favorite place - one of the city's best spaghetti bolognese and caesar salad. But they have much more that that - and we're never... More

Great food, great service, warm ambience--you find these elements in a number of neighborhood restaurants. The good news is that Vito is all that did a little more. Roberto is the owner who runs a good shop. Hank is the lead waiter/manager/sommelier who goes above and beyond as SOP. Nick, Alberto, George,Serge and Enrique are the waiters who keep things... Had dinner here with friends. Last time 10 years ago. Nothing has changed. If your idea of Italian food is from 1975 you will love it. If you want a more modern take go elsewhere. The food is good, but you can get this type of Italian food in many, many other places. With so many gray Italian restaurants in... More

You think that you entered a time warp into the 1950s. Terrific food, excellent bar and great service. Don't miss the Caesar salad or the pastas.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
