Every time I visit my sister we go to the same restaurants, but this time we decided to go to La Vecchia Cucina and I'm glad we did. We found seats at the bar and ordered sangria, wine and a cocktail. The bartender was very knowledgable and attentive. Pasta and pizza were so good and portions generous. Lovely restaurant and... I went with a group of friends (first time for me) on a Thursday night, and the place had a great atmosphere... elegant, yet trendy!! I ordered oysters and pasta Carbonara and they were phenomenal! My group ordered carpaccio (tuna/meat) and a couple of salads -they were great too. Someone had the rib eye and it might have been tasty,... More

My family and I had lunch here. Although the place is not fancy, it serves some good Italian food. It has a nice selection of different salads, paninis, pastas, pizzas, and secondi.

Very tasty italian restaurant, friendly staff and, for Santa Monica, not too expensive prices. But: The restaurant was very loud.

My friend took me to this nice place for a lunch. We started with a burrata which was lovely. The olive oil with garlic was tasty. We shared a pasta and a pizza and they were really good as well. Sorry that we couldn't eat tiramisu since we were so full. The prices are around 30 per person, without wine.

Great food and atmosphere. The vongole is great! Go there! We sat at the bar and ate even though didnt have to and the service was as good as any seat dining.

LA is full of amazing authentic Italian restaurants, but this one should not be there 4.5 star along some of the best in town. As a food critic, I would put it at 3.5 for a good neighborhood stop. So if you know your food, don’t go in there with high expectations. The service was great!

Spent 9 days in LA and ate here 3 times. Kept coming back for the food and great service. Really tasty food and friendly staff. Prices are unbeatable for the quality.

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
