My company recently went to the lobster for the best experience ever. Fantastic, friendly service. Very attentive. Very good food. Of course the lobster but even the burger is amazing. And the view!!!! You just have to see it. It would be a great spot for a romantic dinner at sunset.

This was the second time visiting this restaurant for lunch. It was an easy walk from my hotel, Loew's Santa Monica. Steps away from the beach and Santa Monica Pier. The restaurant has great windows for an open, airy feel and a perfect view of the ocean. I had the crab cakes this trip and they did not disappoint. The... More

Lunch or dinner at the Lobster is always good, but can be crowded and you may not get the table with the great view. The best seat/ table at the Lobster is in the bar and the outdoor bar patio. The views include the beach all the way to Malibu, great sunsets and the crowds walking down the Santa Monica... More

Second visit - got oysters the first time and whole lobster the second. The lobster was good but will get crab, fish or oysters next time. Staff are nice and provide good customer service.

Go here. The view is great, the food is divine and the staff are brilliant. Not the cheapest of options but nice things do cost money and the food here is more than nice. I had the Halibut and it blew my mind, the GF had pasta and loved it. The wine is amazing and if you can pull your... More

The Lobster has loads of lobster, raw bar, ocean fish, wine list (and even a burger for the ocean-challenged) in a gorgeous setting overlooking the beach and the Santa Monica pier. Food excellently prepared and attentively served; plenty of window tables, and that always precious commodity - parking! Pricey, but worth it considering the faire and location.

Best setting in Santa Monica to watch the sunset right on the edge of the pier and beach, enjoy a drink, meal or both, wonderful seafood menu.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
