We planned a special night out from Australia and they accepted our booking from overseas The staff were great Food was amazing. 10 course degustation with matching wines (They were all French) were available. We chose to have American wines instead and they complimented the food beautifully. Pricey but worth it.

Food was really good....we went for 10 course tasting menu with paired wine...all in cost $800 including tip. French food is really rich and felt a bit stuffed by the end but worth the full feeling as the food is top. I'm a strict veggie and they were very accommodating so would recommend for veggies. Only critic i have is... More

I am a chef and typically not very judgemental when enjoying a fine dining experience ....I love to see how different chefs and their crew do things! What does bother me is overpriced, mediocre food presented by a condescending waitstaff that does not even consider that the guests might have some knowledge of food. Funny though, after the staffs' very... More

We had dinner here last Saturday from 6-11 pm. It was 5 hours of pure pleasure. We had the 10 course dinner $185 but add $85 and upgraded to White truffle . Every dish was simply amazing... You have to try it for yourself to understand . Words simply can not do justice. We also have 2 bottles of wine... More

For an unparalleled culinary experience and ambience, this is our favorite restaurant in the LA area! We dine frequently at the best restaurants in Miami, Washington DC, Napa, and LA and Melisse is absolutely wonderful! The service is impeccable and we can't wait to return. The selection of truffles, and their presentation, is a rare treat.

Have introduced several LA friends to Mélisse. Josiah Citrin continues to set a high bar from front to back of the house. His new Grill in Santa Monica is less formal yet high value. For a memorable evening, choose this place. Reservations recommended. Kind of place where you can almost create your own menu and memorable moment.

My husband and I had the 10-course dinner, which they call the 10, and we absolutely loved it! Everything was perfectly seasoned and memorable but the highlights were the egg caviar, foie gras torchon, king salmon, prime rib eye and melon ice dessert. I have to say more about the black truffle risotto. They shaved the truffle right in front... More

Purple sets the tone at Melisse and the staff is welcoming and very attentive. The wine list is both broad and deep, especially with regard to the French selections. The older Raveneau Chablis we ordered was well stored, reflected its pedigree well, and was perfect with the evening’s tasting menu. The egg with caviar first course was delicious and a... More

We booked the place for a special occasion and weren't dissapointed. Food was amazing but just a little too sweet for me. I really loved the french butter and the french bread selection. The service was almost flawless and it was a dining experience we will fondly remember.

Superior French dining with amazing preparation and presentation. Highlights were the spot prawns, lobster bolognese, and the duck which was a unique & perfect preparation. Corkage is a bit steep at $50, but they waived it when we purchased a split of champagne.

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
