Do you need a proper breakfast with huge plates and coffee cups , go there ! The place you must visit! Funky and cool, with funky decor everywhere, like a museum ! The various menu to every taste! The waitresses are friendly and nice !...Love itMore
As a child many years ago, I would go to Patrick's for breakfast or lunch with my dad: I recently made the mistake of taking my wife and children to Patrick's while on holiday in Los Angeles. The atmosphere is what it is: a blend...of Ahnold, the beach, movies, Santa Monica and LA history and collector eclectic: whilst perhaps "neat" for non-residents, the simply awful food that took close to an hour to arrive ruins any opportunity for a fun meal. The service (or better said, the team serving) were great and hugely apologetic that the food had clearly hit LA traffic between the kitchen and our table...but, not worth the hour + of my life I can't get back. Finally, Patrick's is a diner but it ain't necessarily diner pricing - will be another 40 years before I go back.More
A fun place packed with stuff collected over the 46 years it has been in business. Patrick's founder, the late Bill Fischler, was a charismatic, adorable hoarder, infamous for ejecting grumpy customers.
Bill's son, Anthony, continues the family tradition, but fortunately the grumpy customer ejection...policy has been mellowed out. Moreover, there is no reason to be grumpy at Patrick's. The food is great, portions huge, service is excellent, location is outstanding, right across from the PCH and the beach.
Anthony deserves a lot of credit for keeping Patrick's in the family. Running a restaurant is an awful lot of work, and it is way more complicated than his father's era. Kudos to Anthony and the Fischler family.More
Worth a visit for the good food as well as the people watching. Extensive breakfast and lunch menu with a dozen different very good burger options. Friendly service let’s you take a break from the beach to refuel. Not cheap but worth the trip.
Best fresh squeezed orange juice ever! The decor is awful but very interesting, lots of miss matched nonsense stuck to every bit of wall space. Food is great but a little to pricey but it’s a tourist destination so what ever. We go every time...we visit California.More
Saw it on Diners,Drive-Ins, and Dives. Traveled to LA to visit daughter and took her to this place. Loved the decor and atmosphere even though it is a little cramped. Wife had the Govenator, my daughter and I had burgers, one with Dijon mustard and...plum jelly, the other with peach preserves. All were great. Will definitely go back. Tip: the Govenator will feed 2.More
Looking for something to eat after a long hike and before we indulged in the Pacific waters, we stumbled upon Patrick's. The environment had a story to tell and seemed to have a lot of interesting history.
I had the Chicken Mango salad. The portion...was PLENTY after a long hike, very tasteful, and refreshing. Exactly what I was looking for.
Prices were average and to be expected and affordable, but certainly not bank breaking. Service was great as well.
If I am ever in the area again, I would go back and try one of their more self indulging, I need a nap after, meals.More
Absolutely terrific visits to this restaurant. The food was well prepared, the staff was attentive & friendly. I really loved the 40s music but the decor was incredible! There was such an eclectic collection of decor, so many unique items all over, inside & out....That alone is worth going to see. Excellent value, excellent food. I went back 3 days in a row.More
