The food was excellent, we ordered appetizers and dinner, portions very large. All very fresh, great flavors worth a stop

Yum yum!! Four of us enjoyed a wonderful meal at this location. Two of us ordered the shaved short rib sandwich - Carmelites onions along with aioli and other additions made this sandwich well above average. One ordered the turkey burger and added a fried egg - he said it was one of the best ever. The final selection was... More

Nice spot for lunch, club sandwiches were healthy and filling. On the negative side, beer selection is shocking; there is no mention on the menu so you need to check what's available (Corona). Service from Kevin was poor. Not sure if just an off day but he forgot our water, then our drinks...food arrived in good time though.

We were staying around the corner at the viceroy so visited a couple of times heuvo rancheros nice and my husband loved his Santa Monica with turkey omelette with egg whites. Lunch was nice- salads and the salmon vegetable brown rice bowl. Meals are a good size so you didn't overeat.

We were seated quickly with no reservations, and the service was prompt and cheerful, though the restaurant seemed quite busy for a Sunday evening. We all ended up having different types of fish tacos, and absolutely loved them. They are served the way fajitas are often served, with the separate components plated up so you can build your own piscine... More

We tried to grab a somewhat quick meal at M Street, and it was definitely the wrong place for that. The restaurant was very short staffed and when we asked about the lack of servers, they said that this was the normal staffing for the night. The assigned server for our table was too busy to help, so another server... More

Invited business colleagues for dinner. Enjoyed a good meal and service. A small variety of local beers and good California wines. Had nachos to start. Tacos, burgers were great. The chicken was the highlight and the epitome of comfort food. Don't forget to stop by the bakery for an amazing chocolate chip cookie with sea salt. Amazing.

I had dinner here during happy hour, and it is a bargain. I got a $5 glass of red wine that actually was pretty good. I liked the spice in it. My sister got a Spanish white wine for the same price, and I think that one may be better. We got chicken nachos and fries for an appetizer, and... More

At M Street Kitchen for breakfast on a Friday morning. Food good but service horribly slow and unattentive. I realize I'm in Southern California and attitude is laid back here but waiting almost 30 min for my breakfast is ridiculous particularly when the restaurant is not very busy. I don't think I'll be back as there are plenty of other... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
