Seafood Canyon Eatery ...

The Hungry Cat is a very nice restaurant at the mouth of Santa Monica Canyon which has sited several prior restaurants all hampered by the lack of spacious parking, as now. However that's overcome by the great raw bar and seafood platters and signature drinks. Great food! Enjoy. ...

The dishes I ordered were very creative and delicious. I remember seeing this restaurant being designed through Million Dollar Decorator, TV show, a few years ago. It's a very comfortable space and has killer cocktails too. The bar itself is worth a stop, you never know who you're sitting next to. I also had the great experience to try out... More

There is a style and category of 'hip' in LA (and arguably elsewhere), that is partly the food (presentation, flavor) and partly the venue/atmosphere. The Hungry Cat off of PCH is a place, quite honestly, I would never think to go to. It's difficult to park/get to (there is valet parking), the food is not so unusual that I'd go... More

This place offers a decent variety of shell fish (oysters, clams, lobster and crab) but if you are looking for fresh fish you will be disappointed. We were there for lunch and no fish was on offer at that time. Supposedly there is a limited offer of fish for dinner but that is not what this place is all about.... More

Great food, great ambiance and you pay for it. I shared the seafood platter for 2 and it was just as good as it looked. The restaurant is a beautiful setting as well right off pch.

We decided to try something new in Santa Monica and found The Hungry Cat, a seafood restaurant at the border of Pacific Palisades, just off the Pacific Coast Highway. Passed the corridor entry, the restaurant is spacious with comfortable large tables on one side and the bar on the other, separated by the raw bar in the middle. There’s 2... More

The Cumberland cocktail is a must! They make it with gin or vodka depending on what you prefer. We got the 3 tier seafood platter. It's called "the hungry cat". Next time, I'd probably just opt to get the mussels because they were the best thing on there. The caviar and lobster were lacking. The oysters were good. The clams... More

Visited on October 8. Had a great meal. Their version of the shrimp cocktail is great! Good fish and chowder, too. Service was excellent. Prices are high, but you are close to the beach, so that is the way it is :) Hungry Cat is not right on the water. It is across the highway (Pacific Coast Highway) from the... More

9 of us had a work dinner and the food and cocktails were great. Good service, fresh oysters and lovely seafood. Quite busy so a lively atmosphere. Food came out quickly, could have done with a little longer between courses. Chocolate peanut butter cake crazy good!!
