After a trip to the Pier, my friend and I went to The Misfit for wine and dinner. Initially, we thought we would try to nab a seat at the bar, but upon arrival, the bar was packed, so we opted for dining al fresco. It was a very pleasant evening (low 70s). Even so, the attentive staff set up... More

Such a cool atmosphere, The Misfit is located in the oldest building in Santa Monica!! The bar and entire restaurant was beautiful and was hopping on a Tuesday night!! The food is delicious and generous!! I ADORE the French Dip Nik Niks - they are fantastic!!! The fries are a must too!!!

This being my first visit to Santa Monica - I went for a morning walk to scout out places for dinner. I initially dismissed this place as it looked a little sketchy from the outside. But after dinner down the street - my mom and I decided to stop in for a drink. Wow! What a chic interior! And judging... More

This is my favorite restaurant in the area, and there are some good places to eat around here. You must try the avocado toast it's so good! Ambiance is elegant, cozy, just fancy enough (but not overly fancy like some place can be: There is a dress code of proper attire required but I think they just don't want you... More

This place was incredible! The food was amazing, I had the lobster Nik Niks and my partner had the oven-roasted chicken. The design of the whole venue was awesome (looks like an old library) and the music was great! They played a bunch of classics from back home in Australia which made the experience so cool! Will definitely come back... More

Stopped in here for lunch today (Sunday), our last full day of our 29 day trip to the USA to travel Route 66. We were shown a seat inside the restaurant away from any draft but because the a/c wasn't working it was too warm, so we moved to a different table a little nearer the window and which had... More

You know a restaurant's good when it's busy and people are prepared to wait to get a table. Reservations aren't accepted. But you don't know how how you'll be welcomed or how you'll be attracted to stay around to be seated. Front desk on the night we went there was on top form. Gave us a good welcome, seated four... We had a wonderful wait at the bar with the best gin and tonic we were made in the USA. Then after a short wait we were shown to our table and promptly served. Great food. Great service with competent and friendly staff. Can't go wrong.

We walked past looking for a place for dinner around 8:20 on a Wednesday night. The place was packed but the menu (and reviews) looked good so we were happy to wait, grabbed a drink at the bar in the meantime. We probably got our meals around 9:20 but dang they were good. The misfit burger and lobster Nik niks,... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
