Staying at the La Meridian and bumped into this place. Best donuts I have ever tasted in my life. The people that worked there were so nice, friendly and extremely hard working. Ended up going there three mornings because we couldn't get enough of them. Donuts were better than the chains or grocery stores where we live. Fresh, good sized,... More

This was a quick stop as my kids wanted donuts for a snack. They were ok, decent in size and average in price. Not sure I would go back again though.

My go-to spot when I just want a quick bite to eat. The sandwiches on croissants are really good, and generally under $5. Even when I go at night, the croissants taste fresh and there are plenty of meat and condiments on them. Highly recomended...

Pretty casual place... only cash.... but always busy when we stop by on a morning walk from our hotel. Great selection. Efficient and fast service. The strip mall is getting a make over and that will be a bonus for all the stores/services at the location.

I'm a bit of a donut foodie, love to try out new shops and eat anything other than Dunkin. This was a nice surprise. We were needing a quick bite before heading out to Ventura so we swung in here. It's a dump, so much so, you wonder if you're at the right place. The building is having is makeover... More

I stopped by this place as I was staying at the Le Meridien Delfina Hotel. I wanted a quick hearty breakfast without having to spend a lot of money at the hotel. I ordered the sausage egg croissant...it was absolutely delicious!! A Nice Surprise!

Back in Santa Monica for a few days, I was at the Donut King on at 3 separate occasions, each time with one goal: the chocolate chip bar. The chocolate chip bar is like an oversized glazed donut, layered with a thick coating of chocolate-chip studded chocolate icing, then filled with chocolate. When fresh in the morning, paired with coffee,... More

Easily missed, the Donut King, nestled in a plain strip mall that surrounds the Tommy's Burger Stand at Pico and Lincoln, is worth going out-of-the-way for. A miniature mini-mart and sandwich shop, the doughnut and pastry offerings are made on-site. There are two that I will loudly sing the praises of. My (and my son's) absolute favorite is the chocolate... More

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
