Blue Plate has very good healthy food. This is where I go when I want to treat myself to a proper breakfast. Their breakfast menu is varied and you can get almost anything you are in the mood for. Substitutions are no problem and many sides and add-ons. The overall atmosphere is as a friendly neighborhood busy place. You can... More

I went there for a breakfast ...twice . The food was good , health options and service great. The lunch and dinner items seemed very enticing too although I didn't have time

I solo'd here for breakfast last weekend. Ordered bacon and eggs over medium toast and o j. Thirty minutes later I was served. The food was tasty and fresh but a half hour to cook bacon and eggs is not worth waiting for. I'll stick to dining at your sister oyster bar.

I great spot to visit if you are on Montana. There is not sufficient space for good outdoor eating. The inside is small and very tight. So going a bit off rush hour might make the experience of comfort a bit better. The food was fresh and excellent. The staff friendly.

I've eaten here a bunch of times. Very tasty food. The tacos are excellent. The homemade guacamole and chips is fantastic. Turkey chili is so satisfying. I've never had a bad meal here. Sure there is the obnoxious uppity west siders roaming around but this place keeps a nice, clean and unpretentious vibe. Definitely worth a stop if you're in... More

The food is out of this world and the service is also very good, but the place is very noisy and has a door open to the traffic noise from Montana Avenue as well. The tables are tiny, okay for one person, but crowded for two. I ordered the Kitchen Sink Bowl, with a bed of baby spinach and topped... More

Friendly, not pretentious, and good food/service. Have had the club sandwich and salad decent wine and brew list as well. Very nice hard-working staff, and will return in the very near future. You won't be disappointed, try it.

We eat here a couple of times per month and particularly enjoy their veggie burger, turkey burger, baked mac and cheese, turkey chilli. Stephanie is a darling waitress who has a great memory for remembering what items you enjoy. Nacho is a fast moving busboy who really hustles. You are seated on top of your neighbors....in the winter the tables... More

Yes, it is tiny. Yes, it is usually packed and there is a wait list. Yes, it is worth it. Usually interesting locals (if you are into people watching) know good food is the norm here. Breakfast... try the French toast. Lunch... try any sandwich. Dinner... when the candles are on look for the special of the day. Amazing. Oh,... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
