You know you are at an authentic Mexican restaurant when you order menudo and they ask “pata (pig feet) or no pata?” Excellent customer service and they were very proactive with their pandemic preparation.
Went to Taco Ranchero while trying to find best Mexican food in Santa Maria. I was not disappointed! The food was delicious and plentiful! One meal was so large that I even had lunch the next day. Good salsa and chips as well!
My family and I were lucky enough to find this place on our outing to Santa Maria! It makes me wish I could move! My sister easily understands why it one second in best salsa contest but thinks it should have taken first. My daughter;...a very picky eater, loved her lunch and wished we could go back. My sister and I both enjoyed fantastic and massively huge quesadillas of different flavors! We had enough left for dinner later! My son enjoyed immensely a first for him when trying their enchiladas. Now all this would have made us enjoy our lunch. But what truly set this place apart was the friendly, attentive, informative and patient waitress! I’m only sorry I cannot recall her name. When in Santa Maria YOU SHOULD TREAT YOURSELF AND ENJOY A MEAL LIKE NONE OTHER!!More
Had a great dinner here. The waitress is very friendly and nice. The prices are great the portions are very large. I had the Monday special a giant burrito with chicken wet with green sauce and it was great. When they say giant they mean...it.More
The food here is good and the service is very nice. The prices are too high, they will even charge you for a second basket of chips, and the margarita mix is way too sweet! All in all not worth the price.
My brother and I found had to go to Santa Maria for a family matter. Our family that lives in Santa Maria frequent Taco Ranchero quite a bit. It's a little hole in the wall and the folks that run it our very friendly and...care about taking care of their customers.
I ordered a burrito that was huge. Oh my goodness, it was delicious. I ate half and took the rest home for the next day. It was just as good heated up .
The salsa was yummy.
I would go back the next time I'm in SM.More
This is it really a bad place but there certainly isn't anything special about it. Many Americans think that Mexican food is cheese and sour cream and that is what this place specializes in. In other words, there just isn't much spice to their food...at all. It must be pointed out that the service is decent and the prices are fair. If you think Taco Bell is too spicy for you, this is the place for you.More
A few friends and I decided to try this family-owned restaurant based upon online reviews and the recommendation of a friend, and we will certainly be regulars here! The establishment itself is very small and only seats about 45. The wait staff are all extremely...friendly and love to carry on conversations with the customers...it made me feel like part of their family!
The portions are HUGE, but are very reasonably priced. I ordered a regular beef burrito (beef, cheese, refried beans, and rice on the inside, smothered in red sauce on the outside), and it will easily last me for three meals. The best part? It only cost me $8.99! The ingredients are all fresh, and the food is cooked onsite. Everyone at the table loved their meals, and we will be returning again soon!More
My husband and I were on our way to Los Angeles and stopped in Santa Maria for lunch. We saw the reviews of this place on Trip Advisor and thought it could be interesting. It's a very cute, family-type place. Almost looks like a Mexican...diner. When I first walked in, I thought it would be a fast food kind of place because the specials are hung up all over the walls, but it's table service. Food was really tasty and fresh. The salsa is among the best I've ever had - I wanted to take some home with me! Staff is very friendly.More
We have been eating at this restaurant for many years now. It's kinda like "cheers" for us. We know everyone and make this a once a week dinner stop. Great menu, they aim to please and will personalize dishes for you. Lots of Mexican restaurants...to eat in in this city, we have tried many, but, keep coming back to Taco Ranchero. Very afforable and tasty. Terri the assistant manager is fantastic and seems like family to us. Francisco the owner and chef is a delight as well. Highly recommend this restaurant to all who love fresh, tasty mexican food.More
