My family (also Stagnaro's) have been visiting this restaurant for years. We love the seafood and the atmosphere. We were so glad to see that it had reopened after the pandemic. We just visited and the manager gave the okay to order something off of...their old menu - calamari caesar salad. It was so good! My husband also loved his salmon and clam chowder. Delicious as always!More

We were told there would be a ten minute wait for a party of five. We gave them our phone number and waited just outside the door. After twenty minutes we were told that our table "was almost ready." Ten minutes later told that they...were just waiting for a party to leave. After waiting some more they told us that our party had been seated-that they called our name and someone else took the table. They had our number, we checked with them and they knew we were outside and somehow gave our table to someone else, The hostess got snippy with us and a manager was summoned. She was then able to seat us. That's when things got really bad. Three of us had clam chowder. It was lukewarm and the presence of clams was noticeably absent . I ordered grilled snapper that was flavorless. One end was overcooked and the other end was undercooked. I ordered rice but was served fries. Two of our party had fish and chips which were virtually inedible, the fish was rubbery and tasteless. And whatever it was breaded in was gross. My daughter had a chicken Caesar , the chicken was dry and the greens were wilted. This place is a tourist rip off to be avoided at all costs. The owners should be embarrassed to serve this crap- and to provide such terrible service.More

Stopped here after reading the stellar ratings. We were disappointed that they only have take-out, although we sat on the dirty picnic bench on the pier. Ordered fried seafood that had lots of fries. Definitely not worth the price we paid. The fried fish was...good, but the shrimp was overcooked and dry. Why such great ratings? Was indoor service better?More

We stopped here to get some food. We both had the fish and chip sandwich. It was quality fish and cooked perfectly. It was fried lightly and not oily or heavy. I had to get some tartar sauce. They gave me a Heinz prepackaged. I...only wish they made their own tartar sauce.More

I am very happy that this local institution is able to survive during these difficult virus times. Service is good enough for the size of the crowds. They serve fast food cooked with fresh fish that they catch themselves. We had something that was super...salty, which I believe was the smoked salmon chunks. Crab meet is fresh from that day.More

This establishment was recommended, as we desired fresh seafood. Stagnaro's was open Christmas Eve and was good. We ordered crab cakes, a cup of chowder and fish and chips. Sadly, the crab cakes sold out early. The cup of chowder and fish and chips arrived...shortly after paying. The service is good, prompt, professional & courteous. The clam chowder is tasty, yet, sadly it is a tad 'over thickened', which I believe does not need to be. Regardless, it was tasty , though not lots of clams. However, I did a good job consuming it, esp. as the weather was crisp and hot chowder was good. The fish and chips were hot, delicious and ample as it served two of us. The fish, I believe was sand dabs, we drizzled lemon juice on it and that was all needed. No sauce, nothing else, as the fresh delicious flavors came through delightfully. The fries, also, no sauce needed. There is a slight coating on the fries and as they were hot and tasty, they needed nothing else. Stagnaro's prices are reasonable for what you receive. We enjoyed every moment of their food. We'd visit again in a heartbeat. Stagnaro's is a high recommend.More

We went to see the wharf and the seals that inhabit the lower structure. We parked right on the wharf and walked down to the end of the pier to see the seals. On the way back we were a little hungry and decided to...get a snack. You order at the counter which is about 80 feet long. Fish on ice and crabs in tank are on display along the length of the counter. The staff was friendly, the shrimp were excellent and it was convenient. Good place to get a snack on the wharf.More

We like Stagnaro's so went there for a light Sunday night dinner. We had their tasty clam chowder - always good - which comes with bread. We then shared a crab sandwich. Service was good.

I suspect that the restaurants that you find on the piers and wharfs down the coast are all pretty similar. This one is probably no different and is the kind of place that makes me wish TripAdvisor had a "Good" between average and very good....But the service was quick and very friendly and the food better than average. So it's four stars from me. The French fries were really good!More

No reservations necessary. They have two floors so when you go in and ask about a table on the first floor you can go upstairs and see if the wait there is shorter. The whole menu is available on both floors. No dress... More
