We had one of the best dinners of 2020 at Hollins House The chef and staff are awesome. Service is too. We made our reservations on Open Table. We enjoyed their chaucceteri plate which was very good. We had cocktails and wine. Their Paloma Cocktail was very good. For our mains, the dinners were amazing My husband loved his scallops and raved about them. I loved my gnocchi which came with lots of nutritious vegetables. We loved the views of the golf course, so of course ordered dessert. It was good, but not the best part of our meal. I had the stone fruit tart; my husband the banana cake but thought it was not as banana tasting as he wanted. We still enjoyed our leisurely desert and time at Hollins House. Dinner is fine dining - so its nice for a special event or when you want to just have a very nice out. Its welll worth making a reservation for.

Hollins House at the golf course has adapted well to covid restrictions with outside tables placed far apart and a very few indoor tables also available. Service is excellent, and the food is very good. Octopus was spicier than expected and, while the one inch diameter pieces were cooked perfectly, the smallest ends were cooked the same amount of time and were burnt. Scallops were perfect, and the brussels sprout appetizer was very well done. Wine list is a little bit limited during the lower volume virus period, but still pretty good. We'll be back!

We went to celebrate Halloween by having dinner at Hollins House. We enjoyed cocktails and wine. For our appetizer, we shared their crab cake. For dinner, my husband very much enjoyed his octopus. I had gonocchi. We had very tasty maple pumpkin ice cream for dessert. Overall dinner was good Service was OK.

A classic white table cloth establishment with a full menu. Our visit had some home runs and a couple of disappointments. The Fire Kissed Wagyu missed completely (photo #1). The chef made up for that miss with an off menu seared Ahi (photo #2) that was incredible . The Dry Aged Duck Breast (photo #3) rounded out the meal.

Perfect evening sitting outside with friends. Food was outstanding and the service was great. We will be returning, but we will opt to dine in the bar because we nearly fell off of our chairs when the bill arrived. Hang on to your wallet...it was very pricey. Nice for a special occasion.

This restaurant offers the typical country club fare and does a excellent job; the service is very attentive. Of particular note is the wine list - not just the typical over priced wine list - lots of unique and value oriented wines here.

We had a lovely experience at the Hollins House Restaurant until our entrees were served cold to us. Up until that point the experience was near 5 star. The ambiance was stellar, we were seated at a table in the center adjacent to the wall which gave us a panorama view of the entire dinning room. Our server Tamara was professional and endearing. The appetizers were prompt and delicious. I ordered the octopus which was absolutely delicious. Then everything went downhill. We must have waited over 30 minutes for our entrees. I ordered the New York strip which was near cold when it was finally delivered. We asked to re-heat the food which they promptly did, however the mood was killed at that point. Our server was gracious in comping our corkage fee and the one glass of cabernet which we ordered which somewhat recovered the mood for the evening. In the end this place earns a 3 star restaurant review. Such a shame !

We were 4 people all ordered different entrees plus soup, salad, the Salmon Tartine appetizer and the cherry tart dessert. Everything was delicious. We ended up sitting in the Tap Room because the table in the main dining room was so uncomfortable. They are folding tables used for events and the legs block you from being able to sit with your feet under the table - ridiculous - but we moved to a comfortable table in the Tap Room and had a wonderful evening

We attended our friends wedding here. It was ideal. The staff were well managed, attentive and a compliment to the event. never seen but always available is a good description for the event staff. The atmosphere and facilities are pristine for a wedding and reception. it helped elevate the special occasion. It is on a hill but there is adequate ADA parking for access to the facility.

We made reservations with the Hollins House several months prior to our visit. When we arrived at the restaurant I was encouraged when I saw seating on the green lawn overlooking the city and bay. Unfortunately my encouragement was dashed to bits as we were seated instead in the noisy bar referred to as the "Tap Room." During the reservation process it was explained that we were visiting from out of town for a special graduation celebration so to be seated in this area was of great disappointment. I am not sure what the code is to crack getting a good table here but there seemed to be plenty of room in the main dining area which would have been much better than sitting in the bar and having to conversationally compete with those who were partaking of much libations I arrived first with 1/3 of the party and we were able to order drinks as soon as we were seated. When the remaining members of the party arrived I had to remind our attendant twice that the newly arrived guest needed drink orders. The complementary bread appetizer that was brought to the table was obviously not sufficient for five diners and I had to request twice that more be brought out. We did not order appetizers and figured that the bread would have been sufficient however the second serving of bread was markedly different from the first and nothing more than a plan sliced loaf that was cold, firm and quite unappetizing. For mains I ordered the Dungeness Crab pasta and my wife selected the Yukon Gold Gnocchi. I was absolutely shocked and appalled when our server corrected my wife's pronunciation of the word Gnocchi. I am at a loss for words as I have never had a member of my family insulted so severely by a server. Unfortunately, things went down hill from here. Our entire party waited over and hour for our meal. Once again this is an unprecedented occurrence for us especially at a venue such as this. I complained with great vigor to our server but was told that they were just overwhelmed with the amount of diners. When the meal finally arrived all in my party were equally underwhelmed as well. While my meal was not terrible it was overly tangy. My wife's meal was equally peculiar in taste. It was as if someone in the back got a little to generous with a bottle of vinegar. Bottom line up front is that we do not recommend Hollins House to anyone and we would never return for any occasion. It was a severe and heartbreaking disappointment as I will not get a second chance to have a graduation celebration meal for my daughter. Hope to see you on the trail and please try to remember to treat with dignity and respect, all whom with you come in contact. John Eric

This is a real gem, located at Pasatiempo GC in Santa Cruz. Great views from the terrace and a classic setting at both the Hollins Restaurant and the more casual adjacent Tap Room. The quality of the ingredients and the presentation are both excellent. We especially like the Braised Lamb Shank (tender and moist), Mushroom Pappardelle (very flavorful), and Stuffed Petrale Sole (with Dungeness Crab), all paired with a well developed wine list. Desserts are creative and yummy for those with a sweet tooth. Service is attentive and not overbearing.

Martin Ranch was the featured winery and the food pairing was spot on. We'd never been to the Hollins House so this was a treat. The view of the Santa Cruz Bay was spectacular. The bartender made some wicked martini's to top off our evening. Will be back for dinner.

We attended my niece's wedding here on a Saturday evening. Everything about the experience was great, from the very organized staff, led by Margy, the coordinator, to the remarkable food. The setting is amazing, great views. The garden wedding venue was beautiful, as was the outside reception setting. Service was outstanding, and the food, from appetizers to swordfish, roast beef and all accompaniments, was fabulous! It just couldn't have been better! If you're planning a wedding, check this out!
