Save Yourself the Trouble! There were 5 empty tables inside, only 2 occupied. There was a sign up list outside. I waited and then poked my head in to ask if there was a table available. The server looked at me and said that's why...there's a list outside but you can sit there and pointed at an obviously dirty table with food debris. We sat at the table and after 5 minutes, the server brought the menu, at which time, we asked her if she could please wipe off the table. She pointed to another table and said you can sit there. She then proceeded to turn to the other server and say 'And that's why we have a list outside to wait until a table is ready'. This was said loud enough for me to hear. Obviously, this cafe, has more business than is needed, so we left and I will never attempt to go to this cafe again.More

Waitress was super friendly. I had the breakfast burrito with sausage and my husband had a chorizo plate. Fried potatoes were so so good! My burrito was HUGE. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Delicious!

Really good food here and staff is super friendly. I had the chorizo scramble with roasted potatoes. It was huge. We went back the next day and split the bacon tomato & tarragon omelet with spouse. Again, food was excellent. They are accommodating for gluten...free diners.More

We make a point to go here for brunch when we are in the area. Food is very good and for brunch you get a complimentary glass of champagne or orange juice. What a deal. Have never been disappointed. It is a little small but...well worth the visit. On weekends best to get there when they fist open.More

The Boardwalk was closed but right across the street was this great little eatery. The food was great and the pictures on the wall were all done by the same artist who apparently did paintings for magazine covers. I had pecan pancakes that were really...good. Apparently the restrooms were up a narrow flight of stairs. Sincd this was off-season I had the place pretty much to myself.More

The Beach Street Cafe is a laid back breakfast/lunch spot with good food. The portions are too big for me or my daughter to finish, although my husband does pretty well! :) The crab omelet is the perfect Santa Cruz breakfast! Yum!

From the outside the place looks a bit grubby but that's down to the original art and wooden fittings from the 50's Food standard breakfast food at a good value price

Came here for brunch after reading trip advisor reviews. Average at best. A sign on the door asking to pay in cash didn't help the vibe.

If you don’t want to go down town or out to the pier this place is small and quite. The food was good and prices were good.

Homely and delicious food and drink. American cooking. A very warm welcome. They were happy to make sure that my food was gluten free too. A deservedly popular eating place, as the wait list by the door testifies. Easily missed, it is larger inside than...it looks.More

Great location on the boardwalk across from the beach. A reasonably priced restaurant with very good food and quick service. We both ordered the California Burger which we both enjoyed. What I really appreciated was they were closing in 10 minutes but they still made...a great meal with a friendly smile. Well worth a visit.More
