Now that we've discovered Iveta we seem to keep gravitating there. The menu is diverse with sandwiches, soups, salads, pastries & great breakfast options (served all day til closing at 4pm). They also offer great coffees & teas, as well as refreshing cold drinks (I'm...in love with the mint/lime spritzer). Everything we've eaten so far (BLT, clearly one of the most popular items, a spicy hummus sandwich, homemade granola etc) has been delicious; we look forward to trying more. This is an order-at-the-counter eatery; pick up the drinks, the food is brought out to you. There's a small, rather cramped indoor eating area, as well as an eating / lounging area upstairs with a small gallery. Best of all is the outdoor patio, one area with tables & chairs, the other with couches & small, low tables. The patio has umbrellas and is lush with flowering plants. Sooo relaxing!More

Thanks for visiting us. Over the winter we will be upgrading our beer and wine selection, adding some small plate menu items, curating a new music play list and working on a weekend brunch on our patio. Hope to see you again.

Grabbed a sandwich and soup on the fly. Really good and super staff. Baked goods were outstanding, especially the lime squares.

As alumni visiting campus after many years, we were pleasantly surprised to find this great restaurant on our visit to campus. Great menu with delicious sandwiches and salads. We were a large group and everyone was very satisfied with their choices. Didn't realize it was...a satellite operation from a restaurant downtown. Would definitely recommend it to those visiting town.More

Thanks for visiting our UCSC location. We've had a great response from the campus community and have added more healthy menu options to satisfy student requests.

We visited for the scones and were not disappointed. This is clearly off the beaten path. It is close to Natural Bridges and the Monarch Butterflies though. We found it quiet and restful. We enjoyed the fresh scones, hot tea and purchased some jam. The...lunch menu looked great too.More

In a warehouse-like area off Delaware Street (not far from where the monarch butterflies are at the North end of West Cliff Drive) we re-found Iveta Gourmet, an unlikely seeming cafe cum art gallery that we'd visited several years ago. The intervening years have been...good for Iveta's. They were busy, their art display was small but delightful, and their food offerings (breakfast and lunch) have grown more substantial and tasty. They still feature Lavazza coffee (not my favorite, but some people obviously like it), and getting to the bathrooms is a trip through their kitchen and warehouse area. Staff are all friendly young women. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas with sofas outdoors that could only be California. The lox toast I got was delicious.More

We had lovely turkey sandwiches with a beer and tea. Ingredients were beautiful and fresh, including the sprouted wheat bread which was an appropriate thickness for a healthier sandwich. Great for a quick bite. Highly recommend.

This is the 2nd visit for me. The first time, I had a tasty breakfast burrito. This time I tried the Tunisian Tuna Salad. It was refreshing and the dressing was good-a little mustardy. I have yet to try the baked goods yet which look...delicious. We dined upstairs both times. I enjoyed the relaxed, quiet atmosphere and the neat artwork here.More

Iveta is tucked back into an industrial area but this little oasis is worth seeking out. With comfortable and quiet seating indoors and out you would never realize you are anywhere but in a lovely garden. The staff is friendly at this order-at-the-counter cafe. We...had one order of avocado toast with bacon and tomato and one order of lox toast. Both were fresh and tasty. The drip coffee was also excellent. The scones were tempting!More

A friend who loves this place took me here. With tables inside and out, upstairs and downstairs, Iveta has lots of seating, plus off-street parking and a casual ambiance. The lunch menu is interesting, but limited, although reasonably priced. Service and reliability were a disaster....The cashier, waiter, and cook all couldn't get my order right--not once, but three times in a row. All three times, the kitchen sent out something different from what was described on the menu or promised by the waiter. The first time, the kitchen couldn't do what the wait staff said. The second time what arrived was not what the waiter had suggested I order to avoid the problems with the first dish. When the third plate arrived wrong and cold, my friend had finished his lunch, and I had lost my appetite--not only for lunch that day, but also Iveta. I won't go back. TIP. If you go, stick to their baked goods. People rave about them.More

Every once in awhile I love to treat myself to the decadence of their bread pudding with Carmel drizzle! Probably best known for their scones, this hidden gem on the west side of Santa Cruz also has great sandwiches breakfasts coffees and is sometimes open...late for art showings. And for the baker in your life they have a store with their scone mixtures. YumMore

Love the Spicy Vegan sandwich here. They use an Italian giardiniera to give this sando the perfect touch of heat, and the simple.mix of ingredients makes it a vegan home run! We also typically have a bowl of their homemade soup (not usually vegan) and...enjoy their fresh muddled lemonade in an Arnold Palmer. Everything I've had here is superb. All together, one lunch meal for two, with tip, was nearly $50 - yikes (hence, 4/5 rating). Thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful meal, and we're likely to go again.More

Cute little cafe hidden away in the outskirts of town. I have enjoyed everything I have eaten here. The coffee is always good and they have excellent sandwiches. For breakfast I like to get the eggs and greens and my husband loves the lox toast....I have to say I really miss their humus and vegetable platter it was amazing! All in all a cute little find.More

Santa Cruz is an easy going town, so I was happy these guys were open relatively early. I enjoyed a breakfast burrito, cinnamon roll and a large chai tea for under $20. All were well prepared and were delicious. There are tables indoors and also...a patio. There is also an upstairs for the chill crowd. The signs on the table are a little offputting. They should either remove the tip prompt on the POS or at least offer to bring you your coffee when they not busy. Also, I'm not busing my dishes. Sorry.More

A friend who lives not far from Iveta recommended it. My wife and I have dined here twice. Service is minimal, but friendly. You place an order and pay at the register, take a number to a table of your choice, and your food is...brought to you. There's a lot of seating in two indoor areas and an outdoor patio. The menu is fairly limited, but enough to make both of us happy. Parking can be tight -- the parking lot is small, and indoor seating is pretty noisy. Coffee is decent. Don't know if there's a bar -- we don't drink at breakfast and lunch.More
