Wonderful breakfasts and lunches! In fact, this is so good, that you will often have to wait at least 20 minutes to get a table. But that should tell you that locals truly battle the hard-to-park situation and the wait for a table is WELL worth it for such good food and service!

Went to Santa Cruz to visit with our daughter who goes to UCSC. Wanted to take her out to have a good breakfast. Several friends had recommended Walnut Ave. Cafe as a great place to go. If the large crowd outside the restaurant waiting to get a table wasn't a clue to the goodness, seeing and tasting our orders were.... More

This is a very popular breakfast.lunch place in Santa Cruz. The decor is nothing to write about but fills the classic breakfast diner. Service is very good but it is loud indoors and can be wonderful outside on a good day. Never had a bad meal but they will not flex for most desires so order what they have and... More

We got here at 8:45 on a Saturday morning an got seated right away. Then there was a line. Food was pretty good,. I had bacon, very crispy and eggs that were overcooked. Paid to sub fruit for potatoes, and it was less than mediocre. Husband like his scramble. Coffee not great. Service was good.

Before you hit one of the many state parks in the area, fuel up here with any of their hearty breakfast meals. Everything we tried was delicious and plentiful. The prices were great. Prime time can be busy every day of the week. But they seat you quickly and serve you with a smile.

Great breakfast place (and their lunch is not too shabby either!) -- our favorite place for brunch in Santa Cruz. Outdoor seating is nice but limited; be sure to get here early, especially on the weekend.

Even though it was a Wednesday we had to wait appr 7 min for a table but it was worth every minute. Good food, lovely service, no rush despite the peak time.

We had breakfast here more than once during our stay. Service was quick and friendly, food was good and plentiful. Gets busy around 9am with locals and tourists looking to fill up for the day.
