Stopped in for breakfast while dropping our kid off at UCSC. Lots of customers but it seemed like plenty of staff to ensure good service. Fresh grapefruit juice, which is hard to find. Oatmeal with walnuts, bananas, and raisins was tasty and huge! Eggs were poached perfectly. Plenty of seating, but if you're not petite then choose a table; the... More

This popular breakfast place has the feel of a diner with a more inventive menu. I had a fantastic plate of pancakes with berry sauce. Gets busy early on weekends. Small outdoor seating area with umbrellas. Service was fairly good. Great location in downtown Santa Cruz.

Very popular not only for its family style, friendly environment but also for serving up some of the best old classic breakfast dishes around. A great place for families, couples, business lunch or any excuse you can find to eat here. Spot on service. Will accommodate specific requests if the kitchen can handle it. Most recently I had the best... More

Great food, good coffee, sometimes a wait on weekends. The omelets, hash browns and pancakes are yummy.

Walnut Cafe has many good things about it--the location, the outdoor seating, the portions. The waitstaff is generally friendly and hardworking, and will hustle if you need a side of mayo or more water. But I have been coming here for years, and I still can't understand why, in a town with diverse food requirements, they refuse to offer any... More

"Would like some more coffee?" The coffee girls here really want to refill your coffee, very badly. They come by every 4-5 minutes...it is their mission objective to keep your mug full...love it! We need more of this in San Diego. Tasty brunch dishes from $7-12... $10 Chorizo plate...nothing amazing, but pretty darn good. $12 Carnitas breakfast plate...now this is... More

Great value, service and food. Huevos Mexicanos, egg scramblea and whipped cream topping Mochas. Delish!
