Great Irish pub, with a welcoming atmosphere! The Reuben rolls are a delicious appetizer—great flavor with a deep-fried exterior. The burgers are very good; the Irish burger adds corned beef for a great flavor. Make sure you wash it down with a Guinness or Harp. Service was prompt and friendly—some of the best in Santa Cruz. A must if you’re looking for good pub food.

Start your dinner with the Reuben rolls and a pint of Guinness — great combo! The burgers are excellent, as is the fish & chips. The Irish nachos are also great. Service was fast and attentive. It’s become our go-to place for a night out.

This is a small pub with even fewer tables which were small and somewhat confining. However, the food more than made up for it ! We came with a group of four and everyone was satisfied. I ordered the gluten free pasta and my only regret is that I wanted more. I found it unusual yet impressive that they would offer a gluten free pasta dish and I embraced this option. The salads at this restaurant were stunning... mainly due to the rasberry vinegrette dressing which was unique and memorable. Finally the cab we drank was simply outstanding as was the service. Overall, this pub delievered on all levels when came to food. I was more than impressed and am happy to get this place an enthusiastic thumbs up !!

As an Irish couple on our honeymoon we were disappointed with this so called Irish bar.
The Guinness is AWFUL, my husband could not drink it. It’s not a keg it’s nitro and just horrific. Not an authentic Irish Guinness.
We ordered nachos and what we got was slices of potatoes with salsa guacamole etc. potatoes!!! Not nachos!!
We ordered Jameson whiskey which we would drink regularly at home and both of us swore it must have been watered down because it didn’t taste right at all.
If you are looking for an authentic Irish bar do not come here. So far removed from what actual Irish people eat or drink. We were embarrassed that it claimed to be Irish.

Other reviewers mentioned the "daunting" staircase. There is an elevator in a dark back alley around the block, but the manager/owner intentionally (I have spoken with and pointed this out) does not post any directions to the back entrance. Unless you can climb those steps, they really don't want you in there. I have filed an ADA complaint, but the owners callousness will still keep me away. If/ When they get new owner/management with some degree of respect, I'm not going back and I hope this is an issue that matters to you as well.

Great food, great service and yummy food.
Although it was busy, the service was quick and we enjoyed the meals. My husband had Irish pie and I had a Mexican salad.... not vey Irish, but I couldn’t resist. The bar area was busy with lots of social gatherings, being a Friday night. We were happy to discover this place in the busy heart of Santa Cruz. Most restaurants we passed were really busy so we weren’t sure how we would go finding a place to eat, but lucky we spotted a sign with some stairs leading up to this restaurant.

Had the Irish Nachos and some drinks. Quick, friendly service, mid-range price. The dining room was really warm and inviting with dark green and wood decor, lots of seating. Interestingly, they offer Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers on the drink menus, which I hadn't seen for awhile.

I love turkey burgers and their seasoned patties are super yummy
Plenty of Irish favorites to choose from, lots of beer on tap.
Service can be hit and miss depending on how busy the rest is, but that’s like everywhere
Live music and DJ nights are rather load, but fun for a change

Waitstaff competence generally declines during tourist season, guess it started early this year. Very inexperienced staff, sensed drama...no apparent management in sight.
Usually get drinks asap and food quickly. Was there very early for dinner, few customers and a lot of staff on hand. After a 15 minute wait before acknowledgement, ordered food and drink. Finally got food, never saw waitress again.
Ordered Thai Chicken curry dish, had 1 ingredient that was on menu. Instead of brocolli, cauliflower, spinach, zucchini...had the spinach. Then red peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, tiny peas and carrots (obviously from the Shepard's pie ingredients). Sat the plate on edge of table and waited. Shared the other meal, since the quesadilla is hard mess up.
FINALLY waitress came by, grabbed the plate, mumbled something and dumped it in garbage. No offer of anything else, no ask if we wanted anything else. Returned a long while later tossing the check at us. We had shocked looks on our faces. Came back to get check and said...sorry, looked like you were done, did you WANT anything else? OMG!! I can't think of another time where husband left a meager tip, but this time giving 18% was generous enough!!!
Too bad Rosie's!! Used to have pretty on the ball waitstaff...
Not sure if/when we will return.

I enjoy having a Ruben sandwich or an Irish specialty dish with a Stout beer. The pub in on the second floor with great windows. There is a full bar with weekly night music. Great place to hang with friends.

We used to like this place but not sure what’s going on.
Drinks took forever to arrive, a couple were not made correctly or as stated on their menu. Food took forever and it was barely warm. The cheese on my Shepard’s pie had been melted but got hard before arriving at the table.
Waitperson never checked back, didn’t offer dessert menus or act like she cared. I think they may have been short staff people but just guessing. It was definitely lacking in the customer service.
I’d like to give them another try but we will see.

Our daughter and son-in-law just discovered this superb pub - with the best fish and chips this side of the Everton Football grounds in Liverpool England. Everything we ordered was absolutely outstanding - there is some magic going on that kitchen! Service just terrific and ambiance wonderful. We’ll be back!

Atmosphere was great. Service was great. Had Shepherds Pie and Fish and Chips. Pie was excellent with a nice texture of potato topping and very well seasoned filling. Cod was perfectly flakey and tender. Spicy slaw good too. Would definitely recommend.

Saw the stairs up to the restaurant, so decided to head up and check it out. What a pleasant surprise. Had the bacon wrapped prawns for starters, OMG, they were scrumptious. Ordered the Shepherd's Pie and Fish and Chips, and we each had half. Best pie I've ever had, fish was moist and tasty. With it cold and rainy outside had to have some coffee and dessert, tries the bread pudding and wasn't disappointed, delicious. Pleasant service and super nice waitress.
