Went to Mobo with a small group for a birthday celebration and will never go back. Bad service (very arrogant host), smelly restaurant, medicore food. There are way too many other sushi restaurants in the SC area to bother going back.

An annual visit location for 15 years! We're always treated well and the food is excellent. Sake bombs are the, well, the bomb! Great entertainment watching the sake bomb dominoes!

Can always guaranteed good meal. Fresh and yummy. Sushi in general is always a little more expensive thatn other meals, but it seemed pricier here than in other spots in Santa Cruz. Service is adequate, could have used water sooner or another saki, but they were pleasant and friendly. We ordered a few rolls, miso, tempura vegetables, and drinks. The... More

We visited Mobo Sushi on the recommendation of a friend, who pointed out that there is a large selection of 22 vegetarian and vegan sushi rolls. There is also a full menu of traditional cooked items, bento boxes, sashimi, and sushi. Two memorable rolls we enjoyed were the Iron Man with smoked tofu, beets, spinach, and shizo leaves and the... This is where we take visitors for sushi in Santa Cruz. There's a good array of vegetarian options that probably wouldn't be recognized as sushi in Japan but who cares... the Tsuekemono 'quite a pickle' plate is a great starter.

Friends introduced us to Mobu soon after we moved to Santa Cruz ten years ago, and we return every month or two. Sushi and sashimi are consistently good, service is good, although the kitchen can be slow when they're full. My wife especially appreciates the many vegetarian options. The only downsides are the limited selection of beers and wines and... More

To set the bar - I take people from Japan to this place. One of my favorite Sushi places in Santa Cruz.  They break the mold on non traditional sushi roll combo's that st restaurants try to replicate. Sushi is very fresh and great cuts.  They even have fresh fatty tuna if you call in advance. It can get busy. ... More

Awesome place, entertaining and the sushi is one of the best! Ask for the great cocktails or stay around for the sake bongs. Pretty cool place!
