Mike's Mess, homemade bread, and those famous potatoes!!! Artichoke fritatta... so many great choices. The only place I know in Santa Cruz to get sourdough pancakes! Be prepared to wait if you don't get there early on the weekends.

A Santa Cruz in statutory for breakfast.  This is one of the places you can go to see what Santa Cruz is all about. Food is wholesome and fresh.  There is always a line except for the early morning.  However it goes really fast.  The staff here is great, friendly, and on their game. My fav's here are Mikes mess... We visited Zachary's for breakfast on a weekday. We were seated within a few minutes and the food and drinks arrived just as fast. The service was amazing, all the servers were friendly and attentive. The food was lovely, homemade and very tasty. The sourdough pancakes are definitely worth a try!!!

We arrived in here on our first morning for breakfast on our trip to Santa Cruz. I can definitely say we were not disappointed. This place doesn't look very attractive from the outside but don't be put off. Staff are super friendly and food is good wholesome cooking. We had three offering breakfasts between us and we were all very... More

Don't let the look of the restaurant fool you. The food and service is always the best no matter what time or day you go. We love their ice tea and when we come, they always leave a whole pitcher for us. The hamburgers are the best and breakfast is my families favorite. Try their manhattan clam chowder. It's one... Here is where the locals eat breakfast! Well, there are a couple of other places, too. Zachary's, however, is right at the top of the list, and it's not pricey. Just fun. Highly recommended. It's on the main downtown street. Take a stroll up and down Pacific Avenue, before or after you treat yourself to breakfast. Then you'll know what... More
