Good food options compared to most of the unhealthy food options in the area. Yummy food not junk food, and good to eat if you're headed to the beach or the boardwalk.

Went here for breakfast- was hoping there would be a bigger selection of breakfast food though. Basic pastries and sandwiches, nothing bigger than a breakfast burrito (no egg dishes, no griddle fare, etc). By 9:30am they were already out of oatmeal. Long line but was able to find seating outside. Would consider more for lunch than breakfast if I were... More

I had a sandwich here on a busy Saturday morning. The lines were very long and there was no place to sit once you got your food. We had to wait in line to sit down. The sandwich was okay, but nothing special and the prices were a bit on the high side. This is a cute little spot, but... More

This is a sandwich place not far from the pier on the sea front. We stopped for sandwiches which I am not going to describe at length... It would be boring... It is only a sandwich place after all. Just a few words on my BLT: very yummy, food toasted bread, crispy bacon, plenty of salad, good tomatoes and some... More

Most of the food on the Santa Cruz Wharf and at the Boardwalk is kind of churned out crap for people who don't care. The Picnic Basket is not that! This is creative California Cuisine meets a quick lunch, and you do pay a bit more for it. The food is always fresh - on my last visit I had... More

The Picnic Basket faces Main Beach just steps from the Beach Boardwalk. The menu isn't huge but every item is delicious. It is owned by the same folks as Penny Ice Creamery so you can also get amazing ice cream. I don't come here during the summer (good luck finding parking) but if you are already in the area go... This place put out some really good food. Their menu has good variety and the product has a fresh clean taste. Nice sandwiches and salads. Really enjoyed my lunch.

All of the food was great and served 20 minutes before they had initially told us! The beer was great and location is perfect to watch people walk by.
