It's right in the middle of Santa Cruz market. The service was good but slow. I think for their capacity and demand they are understaffed. Unlimited bread, thin nan was good. I would recommend for people craving for middle eastern food in Santa Cruz

The food here is always lovely. The fresh complimentary Naan bread with herb infused olive oil for dipping is a great beginning to a meal. The Pomegranate Eggplant is a personal favorite. Make a reservation!

This downtown location is the best place to dine outside in their amazing court yard. You feel like you dining in Europe! Food is excellent and great local wine list. Get the Mediterranean plate to start off and let the waiter guide the rest. It...More

Laili was a unexpected find for us on our first visit. The Mediterranean menu is unique and delicious. Indoor dining is elegantly designed and lively but not loud. When weather is good, try to get a seat outdoors in the private patio area. We love...More

Beautiful restaurant. Try to get reservations outside on a sunny day. The menu is interesting and the sides are great.. This is a full on meal, not a before beach snack. Great location downtown across from the MAH.

Overall, I had a really good experience at Laili's. The food was delicious, with fantastic takes on some food combinations. I ate outside, and the atmosphere was enjoyable in the garden.

We visit frequently as a couple, with family, or as a group of friends. The atmosphere is great. It's sophisticated with its high ceilings and draperies, but not pretentious (this is Santa Cruz!), An open floor plan allows you to see into the kitchen where...More

If you have a chance to sit out in the garden area, it greatly adds to the dining experience at Laili's.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch. Started with a vegetarian soup and went on to a pomegranite eggplant, all washed down by a home-made tea with ginger.

They have done a fantastic job with overall look and feel of the place. Nice twist on Afghan food to make it more modern. We had chicken kabob, filet mignon kabob, and pomegranate eggplants. All were delicious. Apricots chutney was amazing.

I do not know for sure, but I doubt they would as you have to enter patio by going through the restaurant. Also it reeks upscale. I sometimes feel as if I have not dressed up enough, even in casual, sub casual santa cruz... More
