We waited in the long line to get ice cream here. Inside is very small. Ice cream was good. The history of the place is fun.

We stopped by the Penny Ice Creamery, as Google maps showed that this was the only dessert place open close by, and we were craving some sweets. Are we ever glad we did!! The Penny Ice Creamery doesn't have that many flavors, but what they do have is amazing. Sample them all! They'll let you. The ingredients are all local... More

The flavors are always innovative and tasty, but it is so expensive that we almost never go. Marianne's though it has more "traditional" flavors, is a much better deal for those of us who are not wealthy!

Decided to take a drive down the 1 on the hoilday. After hearing reading about this sweet spot, we thought we should take a little stop. It was the first time we had actually walked around down town Santa Cruz. Most the time we would spend it at the boardwalk or beach. It was also nice having parking that was... More

Too cheap to staff the counter on a holiday. Time-and-a-half cut into profits? One poor worker (with a terrific attitude!) scooping on a balmy holiday evening. I've been waiting for over 40 minutes to get to the front door. Spouse will cry if she doesn't get her toasted marshmallow fluff; I would have gone to Mission Hill half an hour... More

We waited in a long line to try the Penny Ice Creamery last week. The shop is TINY with almost no indoor seating. (A family group with several small children filled most of the indoor seats so the place was very noisy.) The small tables and chairs on the front "porch" do not offer much more seating so be prepared... More

I was recommended this place for its local crafted organic ice creams and it did not disappoint! They only have a few flavors, but it's actually quite hard to choose since all of them are super original and delicious - the staff there was super nice and let us try quite some before making up our mind. I've come back... More

Kids enjoyed the ice creams but we did not find the outstanding flavours we were expecting. The blueberry and chocolate sorbets were very good and not too sweet which is sometimes an issue with sorbets. On the other hand, the hazelnut and salted caramel and Tahitian vanilla did not have the distinct flavours we expected and at times we had... More

Stopped by here and there was a line right out of the door. They had a lot of different flavors but I got the rocky road and with the flush on top. It was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Small ice creamery. Not your typical flavors...really just for these that are willing to try something new. My young children were only willing to try the chocolate. The other flavors were just too unique. Very simple, small scoop in a cone. The Ice cream was VERY rich. Some of the kids tried the toasted marshmallow fluff. It was almost too... More
