I am in love with this place and wish I could come more often! Visiting the diner after the capitola half marathon has become an annual tradition for me the past 4 years. I look forward to how quick and amazing their food is. As always the meals are delicious and filling. Tried their omelette this time around and loved... More

These folks do a classic diner style breakfast 24/7 and have been doing it for years. Friendly, busy place with good cooks and great wait staff. The food is done well and quickly, The atmosphere is a little frantic at peak times, but always handled professionally, with a smile. Local owner and staff stay on top of local seasonal harvests... Definitely worth a visit for any meal of the day. We were staying in this street in a hotel and went for a walk and found this gem. Very busy for lunch albeit we were having breakfast. Food was quick and high quality and service was great. Really fun staff.

We went for breakfast and our food was cooked to perfection and waitress was right on target. This is a smaller place yet the food was great.

Went on the recommendation of a local friend and Guy Fieri. They call it a "Jersey diner with a California twist." If you ran a diner like this in Jersey, they'd find your body in a dumpster somewhere. It has a nice vibe with kitschy decorations all over; staff is friendly despite the very slow service, but the food was... More

I apologize for your bad experience. We agree that we don't do a very good job with this item. By way of explanation we have some dinner cooks who just don't know how to make some of our breakfast items as well as they should. We are going to remove this item from the menu. Sorry but I cannot explain... More

Sorry we even went to this establishment. Our soup was lukewarm. I ordered fish and hubby ordered a steak. Every thing was cold. The fish and the steak were dry and tasteless. We had to call over another waiter to have the the plates go back to the kitchen. Our waiter kept forgetting to bring items we asked for. Will... More

I think my husband had the better meal, and if I ordered the special of salmon piccata I would rate the diner higher. My seafood fettuccine was okay, but the chicken artichoke soup only so-so. But OMG, the housemade tiramisu was to die for. It was a huge portion, soft and creamy, not too sweet, a delicate balance of flavor.... More

Today we had brunch at the Santa Cruz diner. We walked straight in and got a booth straight away. The waiter we had was amazing, so helpful and kind. So we were really pleased with the service we had. The food was great. I had the spring rolls to start which were light and refreshing. Then we had the California... More

Such a cute, cozy place. Extensive menu with something for everyone. Excellent country fried steak and fresh spring rolls. Only negatives - hair baked into my biscuit and no kid's menu allowed for my 11 year old (was told it was ONLY for 10 and under without asking her age)!
