Once in a lifetime airy waffles and carb Benedict with curry and hand sliced ham on a pastry pedistyle. Memorable, but you have to be patient with self serve water, forks, water and highly educated but incredibly bored service staff. This chief is incredible. Had breakfast here years ago on our honeymoon, decided to do it again. The breakfast was so big neither of us could finish it. I had the croissant sandwich and my husband had the eggs benedict both were delicious. Coffee was great too

I went of a weekend to have some breakfast and call a few friends, however was treated terribly by the waitress from the moment I came in. Felt unwelcome and was quick to give me my bill without asking, even though in about 10 more minutes time I’d of ordered more after my coffee. Won’t be going back!

My partner and I frequently visit this place when we are in town. The baked goods not only look beautiful, but taste fabulous. We had a large breakfast. The eggs came out tepid, at best, and they had an organic tea, but no honey. Service is excellent, but they are a bit pricey.

Enjoyed a delicious quiche with terrific side salad, including lightly pickled cucumbers, radishes, sprouts and more. Service friendly and responsive. Coffee was not great, but they comped me for it! The view for people watching and relaxing with warm sun at my back...

We went here twice. WhT a find! First for early evening drinks. Before 6pm discounted wine. Bargain in USA!!! Lovely staff. So we went back for breakfast. Lovely food, especially the pastries but don’t go too early as they come out late, after 9.30am. Danish cinnamon roll with marzipan and with icing on the top was divine!!!

I will not be doing a sit down breakfast here again. The pastries are good and slipping in and out to grab some to go goodies is worth the effort.
I wanted to love this place. It’s cute, has a great pastry display and a good looking menu. Unfortunately it was not a great experience.
Egg shell in my food, the wrong order, bad service.

Food seems fresh and with healthy options. Outside seating on State Street vey pleasant. I saw some people having breakfast and pastries, it seemed good. I had soup and salad, was fresh and tasty. Service a bit slow. Staff pleasant. Would go again for the outside seating and healthy options.

Walked pretty much all of Santa Barbara and tasted many of the bakeries. I like the selection of Andersen's Bakery better than many because they had so many choices. We got to order inside and find a table outside. They delivered our treats and coffee. Very relaxing. And the girls were very friendly.

We were just walking down SB for an easy Sunday afternoon. As we got hungry, starting looking for a place - ran into Andersen’s. Never been before, first time.
I had the Rueben sandwich. My friend had the pork tenderloin special. Both dishes were delicious! Good service, nice set up on the side of the street. Socially distanced. A very good meal and experience!! Will come back again - with desert :-)

This is the best restaurant in Santa Barbara. The food is fresh and hot. The pastries are great. The atmosphere is great. You wouldn't be disappointed. Family operated establishment offers quality, friendliness ,cleanliness and service. You must stop by this place before you leave Santa Barbara. It's worth going back to as a repeat customer. In other words, this is not a tourist trap.

I had the worst experience with this restaurant, after over 15 years of being a regular customer. I was pregnant and I went there when the pandemic had just started, but there was no issue yet, the restaurant was still open. We bought pastries, and the OWNER charged us. The police officer came out of the bathroom. That's when I asked if I could use it because I WAS PREGNANT! And the owner said NO because of the pandemic. She kept speaking in the Pennsylvania Dutch dialect with the officer while I was watching in tears. Shame on you, disgraceful lady! Shame on you! The food? I spent thousands of dollars over the years on not such amazing food, but I was a good customer. Not anymore, and I am writing this now because you should be ashamed of yourself! The toilet was not closed for your friends, right?
