Had a table outside with the heaters on - very hot so the waiter kindly turned them to low for us - then, unfortunately, a group of 4( seemed to be friends of the chef arrived) and they wanted them up - I said no...thanks - not they they even had a thought about me!. Got a glaring star. So after sitting down this group of four whilst I was distracted got the waiter to turn up the heater. So then I have to call him over again and get it moved move to their table which was right next to us. Said thanks for even asking? Same waiter. About 5 seconds later they were complaining it was too hot - seriously, thanks for making our intimate evening a disaster. So then the chef comes back to them and they are ordering away. We get our food and whilst I have my coat keeping my legs warm, they get theirs - the male (at this table starts complaining this is under seasoned etc. ) We are eating - husband had the supposed signature dish of duck - tasted chewy, definitely not crispy skinned - very disappointing. My sea bass tiny portion and nothing to rave about at all - in fact I would say cold. I am still struggling to understand the rave reviews of this place. Have none of you eat French food before! Very disappointed that the chef did not even have the decency to ask us (right next to these "elite" people if we were enjoying or anything? Found this very rude but if these people were his friends or relatives then guess rudeness comes from the same tree . Positives, the waiter was good.More

With Covid restrictions the restaurant has a covered outdoor area in the closed off street. Staff was helpful and attentive but not intrusive, the heat lamps were on, and the music was soft. As for the food, it was delicious. We shared a mixed greens...salad, Herbes de Provence crusted tuna, the duck duo and chocolate molten lava cake. Our bill, with wine was $187. Highly recommend.More

Had a beautiful al-fresco dinner here under twinkle lights in the charming courtyard for my birthday. The food was great and the service was wonderful (they added a personal greeting card and flowers to our table). Very romantic setting highly recommended to celebrate special moments...when in Santa Barbara.More

Since nobody is allowed to eat indoors, Bouchon has figured out a way to make use of every single courtyard space, and then some. If you like fine dining, you'll be happy here. We ordered Crab Cakes (delicious) to split as an appetiser (delicious), then...the Three Scallops (just ok) and the two-duck course (amazing). I called the hostess Amy to ask about a corking fee and was told it was 25.00, but when I looked at my bill when I got back to L.A., they had charged 35.00. Overall a fine dining experience. Note: Be careful leaving as there are still some sketchy people walking around at night and we were accosted by one. (I walked away instead of having him eat his teeth... but just be aware).More

Went on September 28th for an early dinner with my sisters. I have been at this location a few times prior to the COVID-19 restrictions and was not expecting much due to the limitations a dinner on the street can provide. Wow did this location...throw my expectations out the window. We were sat outside in a quaint little courtyard by a fountain that had already been dressed up for Halloween. It was peaceful and had the typical restaurant drone of music in the background. If I hadn't been at this location before, I would not have known it was any different than usual. The wait staff gave us an option to have the typical attentive dinner (pre-COVID style) where they would come and fill our drinks and whatnot or have the less attentive dinner (more COVID-friendly) where we would fill our own drinks. My sisters and I opted for the more COVID-friendly service and still felt so appreciated. We went with the lamb, duck and lobster risotto. We paired those meals with a bottle of YNOT Pinot Noir. They were next level delicious. My sister is still talking about the duck while I am still thinking about the lamb. We ended the evening with a trio of desserts: lemon berry upsidown cake, creme brulee, and bread pudding. I may be biased, but my decision to eat the lemon berry cake was the best one of the evening. Dylan (spelling?) was an amazing server and really made us feel special even though there was nothing special about our time at Bouchon. Very grateful to the people who made sitting outside an option during this time. Thank you!!More

Awesome experience! We dined on the patio due to Covid and it was perfect. So intimate and romantic. They gave us a letter and rose petals for our honeymoon which was so kind. The food was out of this world. We had duck and lamb...and seriously all melt in your mouth! Awesome dinner spot for a romantic date night. Couldn’t have asked for better food or atmosphere. Worth every penny.More

This was our first meal on our recent trip to Santa Barbara and it was great. The food was great, but what really stood out was the service. The waiter knew his wine list very well and i let him choose for me based on...the food we ordered. Everything about the experience was very positive. Highly recommend.More

We stayed in Santa Barbara and decided to have dinner here. One of the few place that takes reservations online. They closed off the road due to Covid and created a great outdoor courtyard behind the restaurant. Excellent service from start to finish. We had...the Scallops and Rack of Lamb - both excellent. Only Beer and Wine here though, no hard liquor. They are doing a great job despite COVID, so go visit and enjoy.More
