RUDEST SERVICE OF OUR LIVES! Our favorite restaurant for the 10 years we’ve lived in SB is now the worst place in town. Last night they wouldn’t seat us for our 6:30 reservation — would not check us in or even meet our eyes! Though...we’ve been there weeknights and weekends, low season and high, recommended Olio to dozens of friends, we will never set foot in this nasty place again. Just shockingly poor and went downhill terribly during the pandemic. From now on it’s Ca’ Dario in Montecito for us (which is fabulous, the best Italian food and service in town!) Fortunately Ca’ Dario took us in on Easter Sunday after the hostility of Olio!More

4 stars-could have been higher. We chose this on a whim from a menu view strolling around downtown Santa Barbara. Wifey loves Italian. Will say up front service was exemplary, friendly, not too obtrusive, and responsive. Outdoor dining to comply with Covid restrictions. Meal began...with delicious fresh crusty bread with olive oil and balsamic. Should have asked if they baked on site. Starter to split of Caprese salad.Three tomato slices topped with Buffalo mozzarella, atop large fresh basil leaves and drizzled with olive oil. The cheese was delicious but the tomatoes were quite hard and low on flavor. Unfortunate. My wife chose a dish with tubular pasta with bolognese sauce, her favorite. The dish looked and smelled great but the pasta, to our taste, was too al dente. Quite hard IMO. Now I will say that I think the kitchen would have replaced it if we had asked but time did not allow. Again, unfortunate. I base my comment about the kitchen on the way they accommodated my menu choice. The menu listed a warm seafood salad of mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp, and scallops with a lemon white wine sauce. Sounded great. I asked the waiter about the size and he explained it was not entree size. He suggested they could make a double size. As I thought about it, he then told me the kitchen could convert this dish into a pasta dish, say with fettuccine. Perfect. And that’s what it was, perfect. Delicious plentiful seafood, pasta cooked just right, and a very complimentary sauce held the whole dish together. I did not leave a speck in the bowl(bread sopped up that sauce nicely). Too full for dessert we left happy but wishing for just a bit better results. Recommended.More

At 55 degrees it is a bit challenging to eat outside. The restaurant has done a great job with heaters and protected cabanas. We enjoyed the burrata several pastas and lamb chops. Great wine selection The pear tart was rich and flavorful

We drove up from Santa Monica for a late lunch at this outstanding restaurant. All indoor and outdoor dining in LA was locked tight, but Santa Barbara had outdoor dining on a perfect Saturday afternoon. We started with the Insalata Caprese which was perfect. I...have this dish often and this was probably the best ever. I then had Palio e Feino - perfect housemade spinach and regular pasta smothered with the best sauce ever. My guest had the grilled Branzino - which was the day's special. Perfectly cooked. The entire meal was beautifully served and the perfect weather on an early December afternoon made sitting outside a special treat. We had a wine recommended by our server - one I had never tried before - but will definitely have again: Cagnulari (a grape variety that was new to me) - Isola de Nuraghi - a terrific wine from Sardinia - a beautifully colored red with wonderful flavors and smooth on the palate. Service was perfect - not too much and all done with great, classy friendliness. I strongly recommend Olio e Limone - definitely worth the easy drive from LA. Thanks to the restaurant for staying open and giving us such a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting. Definitely been missing that in this Time of Covid.More

Loved Olio E Limone as a classic delicious Italian Restaurant, the fancier of the two on-site. The bread, olives, and glass of wine were a fine start. We shared a delicious salad. The butternut squash ravioli was amazing and so delicious as my vegetarian entree....My son enjoyed a Pappardelle with Quail, sausage, and mushrooms. Our server was not the greatest however, the lovely hostess and food made up for it.More

Food: Delicious squid ink seafood risotto and pumpkin ravioli. Reminiscent of dinners in Milan and Florence. Service: Hostess was a bit overwhelmed by number of people checking in for reservations but once seated, service was friendly and efficient. A great place for an authentic Italian...meal.More

Unfortunately Olio e Limone was a bit of a disappointment. The service was slow and unattentive, house made pasta was good, lamb very good, and fish poorly prepared. The olive oil was very good.

White table cloth service, high end, very well cooked Italian food, we split some of the pasta dishes as we wanted to try the pasta, but also the entrees. Really enjoyed the food. Very authentic and the service was excellent.

Olio e Limone stands conveniently at the corner of a city parking lot which you enter on Chapala St. The restaurant is located on Victoria St, but there is an exit on that street. The first 75 minutes are free and then it... More
