The only thing holding back The Lark from getting a rating of Excellent is the timing of the delivery of dishes! My wife and I had a 6:30pm reservation, our table was ready and we were seated promptly. A basket of bread was delivered and...More

The lark seems to be resting on its early laurels. The most recent visit was very average. The prices are high for what you get, but use to be creative and worth the price. Now it seems just so so. It is still difficult to...More

I'm not a fan of restaurants that are overpriced, have menus that are different just to be different, and require valet parking. If you don't mind these things, then The Lark may be your kind of place. The food is OK, the service OK, but...More

You definitely need a reservation to get into this super trendy restaurant. Felt that unless you were dressed extremely stylishly, you got some odd looks from the staff. We had a reservation at 6.45 but didn't get seated until 7. Tables are quite close together,...More

Love this place. Great atmosphere, menu, service, and value. The food was very good - depth, texture, etc... We had the quail and froi gras. Great combinations of flavors, temperature, and presentation.

A friend from SB recommended The Lark. Very cool place. Food was excellent, albeit pricey. Three marvelous deep diver scallops for $36-with lots of veggies. Tables are so close, that we were seated in a bar like environment. Service was superb. I would go there...More

I'm not joking. The food was INCREDIBLE. I came here for a business dinner with 6 very different eaters, and we all found at least one dish we were each obsessed with. We made a reservation and were seated at a great table outside. Our...More

Description
The Lark pays homage to the history of California train travel and tributes the treasured and long gone Santa Barbara Fish Market, built in the 1920’s as a commercial fish processing plant, shipping their seafood products throughout the state by rail. With an imaginative yet approachable menu created by the gifted Jason Paluska, The Lark celebrates everything found around Santa Barbara County – wineries, farms, ocean and natural beauty. The stunning design strives to connect to the past and the future, using discovered objects from the past and blending them with modern, urban and industrial materials to spectacular effect.
