This is one of the must-go-to spots in Santa Barbara for dinner. The food is uniformly great, and they seem to pride themselves on having excellent servers who are both friendly and knowledgeable. So much so, that I let our server up-sell me on our...More

There was nothing we didn't love about this place! From the service, to the ambiance to the unique, quite tasty food. We loved the outside seating. It was quite beautiful out there. The servers were so accommodating and funny, as well. The Brussels Sprouts were...More

Went to The Lark for dinner. It was a good choice with a decent selection of food and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The waiters were very friendly and attentive and gave good suggestions and regularly checked with us. I found parking space at the...More

Sort of funny, people watching people looking for famous, a lark (pun intended). Ok, so the food, very imaginative, well plated, but sometimes a bit quirky. Overall, however, very good to excellent. The pate with the duck, well, let's say the duck had a hairy...More

We wandered in off the street, on the early side, figuring we would never get a table. We did, and were delighted with our server... Charles i think. He explained how the menu worked, that dishes were big enough to share, etc. The bread by...More

I had high expectations for this place based on reviews. I was sorely disappointed. It had lots, but none of it good. Lots of salt, overpriced food, noise, and money for the food. The only thing they didn't have lots of was waiters. We had...More

We open for dinner at 5pm, Tuesday - Sunday. Our sister restaurant Lucky Penny is open daily for lunch and will use our patio from 11am-3pm. We apologize for any confusion.

The Lark pays homage to the history of California train travel and tributes the treasured and long gone Santa Barbara Fish Market, built in the 1920’s as a commercial fish processing plant, shipping their seafood products throughout the state by rail. With an imaginative yet approachable menu created by the gifted Jason Paluska, The Lark celebrates everything found around Santa Barbara County – wineries, farms, ocean and natural beauty. The stunning design strives to connect to the past and the future, using discovered objects from the past and blending them with modern, urban and industrial materials to spectacular effect.
