Opal was one of the recommendations provided to us by our B&B and as it was fairly close to where we were staying we decided to give it a go. The place was buzzing when we arrived and although there were no tables available, we...were able to order food while sitting at the bar. This was actually really good as instead of it just being the two of us, we were able to chat with other people also eating at the bar and met a lovely couple who lived locally who gave us lots of tips for while in the area. The service was a little chaotic due to how busy the place was but the food was delicious. The menu had lots of great options and every meal we saw being delivered to other diners looked lovely. I'd have happily eaten most of what was on offer. I chose the wild mushroom risotto and my husband had chicken pasta. Both dishes were so tasty! My risotto wasn't a traditional Italian type one but instead felt much lighter which was perfect for me. All of the ingredients were so fresh and tasty. I had a try of my husband's pasta and that was delicious too. We were really happy with our choices. We would definitely recommend going there as the food and atmosphere is great!More

What an awesome place. We had a group business dinner for 60 people and it could not have been a better experience. From the first call with the GM (Matt) I knew this was going to be great. Dealing with the owner (Richard Yates) was...a fantastic experience and truly put me at ease. He worked with us to finalize all the details and made terrific recommendations to ensure success. We had the event outside and the heaters were welcomed as it was a bit chilly. The filet was amazing and every person that ordered it felt it was prepared exactly as ordered. It seems that the salmon dish is their signature dish and it did not disappoint. The wine Richard suggested was local and delicious. The wait staff was amazing and coordinated everything seamlessly. It was truly the easiest and best group dinner I have ever planned. Everyone at the restaurant went out of their easy to make it a special evening. We will be back and can’t wait. Great place.More

Wide variety of options, all excellent. A little unsettling that such a skilled kitchen couldn't make my dish without cream. That should have been no problem since that was the only ingredient I wanted left out. Service was good, had to wait for a table

Dinner before the London Symphony with girlfriends on a bustling Thursday evening we sat indoors in the delightful front diningroom. I noticed that the noise level was moderate enough I had no troubles having a quiet conversation with my friends. The server brought waters immediately...and recited the night’s specials. He returned a few moments later to inquire if we wished to order cocktails. Yes, please. Once the drinks arrived we received a respite to peruse the dinner menu and enjoy our time together. Our food choices included starter of crispy phyllo wrapped Tiger prawns with a small salad, delicious, followed with a classic Caesar salad, big enough for three to share. Entrees: shrimp special and Opal paella. The food was wonderful. Service was unobtrusive, but attentive and we had a delightful experience.More

We enjoyed everything about our outdoor patio dining on January 12, 2022. The patio had many heat lamps so we were comfortable, The tables were safely distanced. Our server was delightful and attentive. My husband had calamari which was very good and tasty. I had...the salmon which was excellent.More

Four people in the party that had dinner. The server was quite new but that was just fine. The seabass was perhaps the best fish we've ever had anywhere. Incredible. Some of the food came with things not listed on the menu (like bell peppers)...which was disappointing to send back. The drinks were hit or miss.More

Had dinner at Opal and it was fantastic. Nice ambience, great service from Anna and the food was amazing. We shared a mushroom risotto as an appetizer which was really flavored well with garlic and Rosemary . We had the salmon, vegetable Napoleon and wild...mushroom pizza. All delish! Great food, great service, and nice ambiance. We sat outside and found it very pleasant. Lots of good choices on the menu; we all had a hard time choosing. We had asked at another restaurant where we should go for a special occasion and they...recommended Opal. Glad we listened.More

Very impressed with the food at Opal, not so much with our waitress. We started off at the Bar for a drink and we loved the drinks and service. We closed out our tab and went to a table to eat. Unfortunately our waitress must...have been having a bad night and we got no greeting, she never checked on us to see how the food was prepared, etc.. and we felt that the whole meal was rushed and she wanted to flip the table. We ate in a little less then an hour (three courses) She even brought us the bill before we asked for dessert and coffee. Our meals were fantastic and clearly they have a talented chef/kitchen staff. However, a lot of your overall experience is determined by the wait staff and clearly this was a night where it didn't match up to the rest of the restaurant.More

Our evening was highlighted by the friendliness of the wait staff and of Maître d Matt, who was also very knowledgeable about wine and willing to discuss business with us, since we have been in the wine and restaurant business. We had the Vegetable Napoleon...as a shared starter (wife liked very much; I thought its taste was just a little muddled). She had Warm Seafood Salad = A+. I had paella, which needed a little acid/lemon juice; then = A. The Chocolate Tart was A+ from the git-go.More

We were visiting SBA, and our friends recommended Opal for dinner. We’re glad they did. Service was great from start to finish. Nice selection of wines at reasonable prices. Good variety of items for first course and mains, and a fun group of specials. We...all felt our mains were great, and I especially enjoyed my King Salmon special. I’d certainly recommend Opal for dinner, and we’ll be back the next time we’re in town.More

Don’t even know where to start. This was a fantastic dinner. Hubs ordered the special line caught King Salmon which he pronounced the best salmon he has ever eaten. And he’s a salmon snob. I had the warm seafood salad which was amazing. Love love...love.More

Nice atmosphere, great cocktail menu and diverse entrees to choose from. This was a nice place to celebrate being able to dine out (and inside) again! I probably won't return only because there are so many places to try.

Great for date nights. Food was excellent: enjoyed the calamari appetizer, but not the crab cake (just 1 and not very tasty). The warm bread served with the meal was good. Duck entree was excellent, as was the pizza. Chewy crust, They gave us dessert...with customized plates on 2 birthday celebrations we had (too bad they didn't give us a choice of the desserts). Sat outside, It was nice, but the wind kept blowing out the heat lamps, so it was pretty cold.More
