This old tavern is located next to the road the goes straight into the mountains. Its a very cosy spot. I was there on a Sunday. Surrounded by live music and a good mix of people. Lovely to have a low key relaxing day.

First meal since my college days at UCSD in the 80s. Hit CST on a Fri for lunch after the rush. Jeep tour crowd was thick but on their way out. Seated after a 30 min wait even though our table, right inside the front door, was empty the entire time we were waiting (?). But the wait time we... More

Cold Spring Tavern is a magical place!! Built in 1865 up in the mountains surrounding Santa Barbara. It keeps its original charm with romantic lighting at night, including real oil lamps. The food was delicious, and the price was very reasonable. If you go on the weekend, you will enjoy excellent live music from local bands.

I love this place for the historic landmark and the rustic old look. But the food is not so great! The service is fast. I had the tri tip sandwich and it was boring. They give you a lot of food!

Spent the afternoon enjoying the live music and atmosphere. If you visit Santa Barbara you have to visit cold springs, it's brilliant. We then had dinner at the tavern. The staff were pleasant but it was impossibly stuffy inside the tavern. The food was good and the service attentive but we couldn't wait to get pushed in the fresh air.... More

The drive and scenery are memorable. Parking is not too challenging even for a Friday lunch. The dining areas are rustic and can accommodate parties of varying sizes. The soup of the day was a vegan selection being both hearty and flavorful. It would appear as though the 'regulars' know what is best to order and worth listening to. The... More

It is in the middle of nowhere, abort 30 minuters drive upwards from Santa Barbara. We really enjoied the place and the Tri Trip Sandwhich ($10) tasted very well together with a beer. There were different sauces to select among. I took a small piece of each. You have to go the bar and order food and drink and then... More

Food was delicious. I had a grilled vegetables salad. My husband had a cheeseburger. The onion rings were fantastic. Great place. The crowd was interesting in a good way. International crowd mixed with locals.

In a world of manufactured quaintness Cold Springs Tavern stands out for its authenticity. Food is excellent and the onion rings are out of this world. Quiche was wholesome goodness and the tri-tip sandwich was delicious and enough for two! Definitely worth the trip.
