We took a leisurely drive just to have lunch here just for the "toad in the hole" (that's bangers & mash or sausage and mashed potatoes for anyone who's never heard of it, i.e. me until now) & the fish & chips. My fish and chips was great. We ordered coleslaw but it was missing a little liquid, and a... More

TravelinAlan has had fish and chips all over the world, which includes London. Mac's is as good any place I have been. The portions are very big. The fish is excellent and the chips (fries) are great. Add the mushy peas to get the real English feel to meal.

My wife and I ate here because we saw it on Triple D. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and we enjoyed it. It is nothing amazing and it does not claim to be, what you get is good food similar to a very good chippy at home which is what we wanted. Keep up the... More

Hmm. Where to start. This is not a good "chippy". The chips themselves are decent. The rest of the menu not so much. Under cooked. Glasses all "smelled" and the overall hygiene is not up to standard. In fact. Quite bad. Prices are fine but certainly would not recommend or go back. And no. I'm not American. 2/10.

Sick of seeing Americans complain on this thread about this chippy. 1. Don't complain about the fries, they are not fries and they are not supposed to be anything like fries. 2. Don't complain about thickness of chips, they are British chips and are supposed to be thick and not crispy. 3. To the guy who complained about kids charging... More

This small shop was rated excellent by the Food Channel...and they were right. The Fish & Chips were great. Walk up counter to order and eat inside the shop. Easy to do and the price is right. you will love it!

Half way through our California holiday and just round the corner is an English fish and chip shop. Unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. Partner had cod which was not fresh as he thought it had been frozen. My battered sausages tasted of fish, suggesting they were battered in the same batter as the fish. Chips weren't like back... My son was craving fried fish and chips and the reviews were good. We decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. Prices were very good, serving size was fine and meals tasted great. We ordered the small fish and chips and a cup of chowder. Eveything was served piping hot and quick. Batter was light, fries were... More
