Nice dinner for night out with close friends. Good menu options for food and drinks. For the most part the food was great. The duck, and trout was very good, but the black sea bass was a miss, and a little dry.

We chose to dine at Jane because it has great reviews and was close to where we were staying (Simpson House Inn). We're visiting from UK and found it difficult to make a booking due to the time difference but so glad we did. We...were a little concerned about the lack of recent reviews but think it may be due to the locals keeping this little gem to theirselves as it was quite busy including several people collecting food to go. We had the salmon on cedar plank and a Jane burger, both very delicious and followed by the coconut chiffon cake (make sure to try this, it was lovely).More

Full disclosure. I've never stepped foot inside the Jane on State Street. I visit the lesser know, off-the-beaten-path Jane in Goleta. In fact, since I work at UCSB, I visit this particular Jane quite often. It's fabulous! Every meal I've tried in the past two...years has been wonderful. Sometimes I visit just to sit at the bar and have one of their signature drinks. They 'dry' all the fresh fruit on-site that Chiago, the bar-tender, uses when making said signature cocktails.More

Thank you to the staff who was patient in accommodating our delayed arrival…. Jane was a delightful dining experience. Darling balcony upstairs, beautiful music for those dining inside and seating outside as well with heaters. Waitstaff was fantastic! Dinner was delicious! Thank you!

We went to jane's as that is the name of my wife - Good choice! Very pleasant French style restaurant on State Street, serving a range of international dishes using local produce. I chose the Almond Crusted Local Halibut, which was really excellent and perfectly...cooked. My friends enjoyed their choices too, and also enjoyed the wines and craft beer which helped wash them down. Not cheap, but there again the food and surroundings were worth the slightly high prices. Especially recommended for a celebration, or simply for a good meal out.More

This restaurant was recommended by our nearby B&B and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant is on State Street which is a long road full of lovely looking restaurants. We hadn't made a reservation and the place was very busy when we arrived however they...were able to find us a table for two. The service was brilliant and our server was so lovely and friendly. When we placed our steak order, she told us it was her favourite but that she usually has it with pasta. She was happy to let us change around the sides if we wanted to but we stuck with what was on the menu. It was really nice to have that option though if we'd wanted something slightly different with the steak. The food itself was delicious and was one of the nicest bits of steak we've eaten in a long time. We were so full that we were only able to share a pudding (also delicious)! Jane's was a really great place to visit and if we'd had more time we would've happily eaten there again.More

Jane was recommended to us as a favorite for locals by a staff member at the Inn we stayed at and it did not disappoint. Jane's location on State Street was very convenient. The restaurant has a somewhat rustic appearance which might cause some concern,...but as the saying goes, you can't tell a book by its cover. Our dinner was excellent. We started by sharing the whole roasted artichoke, which was tender and definitely tasted of the lemon garlic aioli sauce preparation. My wife chose the chicken piccata, which was tasty and also very moist and tender, and her request for extra vegetables instead of pasta was easily accommodated. I ordered the fresh fish and shellfish stew with tomato, potato, ginger, jalapeño in a coconut cream sauce. There were ample chunks of salmon, seabass plus shrimp and small clams and the dish was outstanding. For dessert, we ordered the delicious and creamy cheesecake to share which was cut in half and served separately to each of us. Our waiter was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. We are pleased to recommend Jane and look forward to returning when we're back in Santa Barbara.More

We wanted to enjoy a nice lunch here this week after walking the city. Based on the recommendations from TripAdvisor and the open hours posted on TripAdvisor. Doors were closed and opening hours on the door was only for dinner.

We were lucky to snag a table at the last minute. By the time we’d ordered our meals, all tables were full and the restaurant was buzzing. The ambience was hip and welcoming. Service was prompt, pleasant and professional. We’ve just spent two months in...Wailea Maui eating at 5 star restaurants and this was by far the best meal we’ve eaten. Halibut and lamb.More

We especially enjoyed dining on the balcony. Our server Haley was very pleasant, friendly and professional. My husband ordered the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly. My salmon was excellent.

The food was good and the view from the balcony are awesome of State Street. I recommend the chicken picatta.

On our recent trip to Santa Barbara, we remembered how much we'd loved the food and service at Jane a few years ago. We returned -- twice! -- and were so glad we did...! We especially recommend the Chicken Piccata and the Grilled Salmon on...Cedar as entrees, and the Coconut Chiffon Cake for dessert. Delicious! We'll be back!More
