I love this place. All healthy stuff and made to order. As has been mentioned on other reviews, it's a bit surfer dude / hippy but / trendy tattoos but, you are in California after all!! Even as a hard nosed Londoner, I thought this place was great. After finding this, it has become our default breakfast spot en route... More

Hippies have difficulty cleaning anything. So don't expect a clean environment here. My nose started running and I was sneezing - while sitting in their semi-outdoor patio. I wondered if my spoon was washed? The food itself is doused in honey or agave. The Acai itself isn't too sweet, thank goodness. I'm happy to have experienced a laid back place... More

Everything about this lovely, smoothie cafe tucked on the very end of State Street ticks all the boxes Santa Barbara has reputed for - ultimate perfection. Anything off the Backyard menu will leave you feeling full, vibrate and well worth the price. I would eat here everyday if I could!

Acai and fruit bows, different varieties offered. They also have smoothies. We chose the fruit bowls and they were fresh and tasty!

We were on a trip up the West Coast, stayed in various hotels along the way, ate all the pancakes, bacon, maple syrup...man v food breakfasts you could imagine, but this place beats them all hands down. Fresh clean, healthy options. I tried the yoghurt pot, portion size was very good, yoghurt was very sweet, walnuts, strawberries, blackberries and honey.... More

These guys were the pioneer in the Acai bowl world 6 years ago, and in my opinion have the best acai in town. The 'Backyard Bowl' is their flagship deluxe bowl with all the goodies.

This place is the real deal. It's a treasure and a treat to yourself when you discover, and it's also addicting. They only use good ingredients, none of that high corn fructose syrup. And for that, all of our bodies are thankful.

After a nice morning bike ride, we headed to Backyard Bowl for a filling, yummy breakfast and it did not disappoint. Service was super friendly, atmosphere was cool and the breakfast was delicious. I ordered the island bowl (regular size and it was a huge!! next time I'll order a Kids portion) Hubby got the regular Acai oatmeal bowl and... More

I visited here on a recommendation from a wine tour operator, of all things, and had a VERY good breakfast. The standard Backyard Bowl was a real winner but the power bowl was also outstanding. It's very expensive, though, with almost anything over $8 and plenty over $12.
