This small bistro tucked away on the Arcade that runs between the SB Art Museum and Figueroa street is an underrated gem. The menu is limited by comparison with most other restaurants, but the dishes are interesting and carefully prepared. The menu includes great salads, small plates, including roast quail, my wife's favorite, eight or so main courses, and then... More

Great for a date night or just for some tasty food and wine. Beautiful romantic environment in a european walk street setting. Small plates with great taste. Husband and I take advantage of the special tasting menu of 3 courses when it is offered. Otherwise, we enjoy the the duck crab, and lamb offerings.

We had a wonderful time at this gorgeous little restaurant. The food was absolutely lovely as was the wine and service. We had the crab cake, the quail and the goats cheese salad. All were sublime but particularly the quail. We will definitely revisit this gem when we head back to Santa Barbara :)

Sunday night dinner was awesome! We booked an early reservation by choice and we were the only ones in the restaurant for a little while. It was nice to have some quiet time in a very private corner of the restaurant to ourselves, very romantic! The four course meal was fantastic and we chose to include the recommended wine pairing... We celebrated a friend's birthday here. Located on an alley off State Street with a very European atmosphere, you get the feel of dining at a small French café - in France. The staff is very friendly, and seem proud of their food and service. Sunday a fixed price dinner is served - very reasonable at $25.50 - consisting of... More

Any time we want to revisit one of our favorite European cafes we come here. Authentic, charming, and inexpensive off a hidden alley downtown. Superb food experience and great ambiance.

Recommended by friends, we had lunch at the Petit Valentine. Located in the La Arcada, a passageway with several restaurants and shops, we were surprised how good the food was and the very good wine list. There is seating in or outside, though the inside seating is not very large. Decorations were good and were a good replica of a... More

We had lunch here once 2.5 years ago and found it to be a special treat. Visiting the city again, we had dinner and it was absolutely wonderful. We're house-sitting for friends, so we bought them a gift certificate to eat here as a thank you present. I think we'll eat here again before we leave!

Memorable meal starting with field greens with beets and cheese, butternut squash soup, really fresh sole perfectly prepared and ending with chocolate marquis. Other members of the party had traditional chicken with mashed potatoes or duck with tomato ginger jam. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Reservations are important and the space is cosy. The bench seating is less than... More
